So got this 18 pp with 10 speed..i plan on taking it to the strip as soon as it opens ,and mod it up as soon as I shake it down for a few thousand miles ,and I want to know how bad mileage suffers on e85? Are the tuners for e85 able to program the tranny as well(raise shift points)? If I keep my 60 ft times above a 1.6 will I still need half shafts? Is anyone working on drag/lowering springs for magnaride except for the one ford performance set? I haven't seen a stall converter for the 10 speed anyone know of one or is one in the works?

thanks

I can answer a couple of your questions as I just went the tuning process on my '18. I'm getting combined 19mpg on E85, was 22ish on gas. At least with Lund (what I have) the 10R80 shift strategy is revised with the tunes. WOT shifts happen at 7500 rpm. Part throttle shifts are sharpened up . Seems to hold each gear a little longer too. Feels awesome.

As for halfshafts, that's a complex question to answer. All depends how much wheel hop your car creates, supporting mods to eliminate it, and how sticky the race surface is. I know of one 10R80 car that has snapped (Lethal's).

well that makes the e-85 a no brainer, even if it didn't increase power, at an almost 33% discount over premium. If the fuel system has the headroom to push e-85,and by all accounts it does, I don't understand why ford didn't make it flex fuel themselves. As far as the tranny goes mines shifts around 7500 now so I guess they didn't bump up shift points..thanks for the info:)

I agree. It makes no sense that Ford didn't make the Mustang an E85 vehicle. My 06 Explorer was E85, as is my 15 F150.

So it is generally agreed that the Mustang has everything necessary to run e85 without issues? Other than a tune no other hardware is necessary?

That’s it. Just a tune for it.

I thought springs for the magneride equipped gt350 would work.

Thanks,
Mine is black as well, manual says no more than 15% ethanol. What besides a tune is required to run E-85 on these Gen3 5.0's.

No special tubing needed for E85 so it doesn't eat things?
