What is wrong with my stang?

I noticed what sounds like Engine tick just after doing my first oil change @ 1300 miles. I used Motorcraft 5w20 full synthetic oil just as I always did on my 2004 stang and 2012 stang

First time buying a Ford vehicle myself, and I've posted a similar thread awhile ago (my vid's here: [ame]).

I've seen various responses regarding this noise, and personally it's very unsettling. I know Ruby305GT had experienced this same issue and it got out of hand. You can check out his post here: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21895.

Several people have mentioned this on here. Some people say they've taken it to ford and keep getting the run around and some others haven't had any issues with it other than the noise. Personally, I asked one of my friends who had an older model mustang and he's very familiar with the noise, but he's never had any issues in all the years he's had his mustang. So for now I'm just leaving it how it is unless I hear it get worse. My noise started around 400-500 miles and now I'm at 1500 and don't hear anything.

yep, i can hear the BBQ tick in the 2nd video. this means ford did not resolve whatever is causing it in the 2015 coyote. sucks. sorry to hear about this.

one of the theories/myths people have said in the past (it's a prevalent issue on the S197s) is that it occurs when you change the oil early, which doesn't make any sense.

i have seen people mention that they got the tick much later on, like 30k miles or so, but most people who get the tick get it early, after the first oil change.

oh well, i thought the coyote had a solid reputation for being a robust engine, but things like this and the way ford service handles it is kinda scary.

altjx: i didn't hear anything odd in your video.

So is the only thing that can be done is wait and see if it goes away? Should i try and take it to FORD?

i would at least take it to the dealer and make them aware that you have the issue.

You have the same exact thing i have!

Take a look at my thread.
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24612&highlight=bbq

Ruby had a similar issue and im not yet sure if his was the second stage of mine or what, but he ultimately got his lemoned after the replaced a major engine component.

this as you highlighted was a rampant issue in 2011-2014 and has since improved greatly it seems in the 2015s but ours have fallen through the cracks.

What was your build date?

Take that thing to the dealer ASAP and get it documented. I'm currently in arbitration with the BBB - the documents and time frame I have put forth I believe will be a nice addition for my case.
