I'm boosted and looking to add nitto 555r 305 35 20 to the tears. How do you like them? My car is just used on weekends less than 5k miles on a year. I will occasionally take to drag strip. What's your experience with these tires at the strip?

also are these good to pair with nitto 555 g2 275 in the front thanks ?

If you drive it that rarely AND you take it to the drag strip, you may be better off with a stickier tire like a Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S.

I had them in 305/35/20 and they were REALLY good. I've since switched to a 17" wheel but I kept the same tire. I'm a huge fan.

The Nitto 555R is obviously stickier than a regular Summer tire, but it's not going to perform like the Mickey.

Are the Mickey still ok to drive in the rain like the 555r nitto?

I wouldn't and I'd be careful with the 555R. they don't have much tread on them to begin with. I have the Gen2 on the front of mine and the 555R in the rear of my cobra. I like them but don't expect to dead hook. great high HP street tire though

Yes, your suggested combo is commonly used and liked by many. The rear tires will not last long at all, so plan accordingly. Do NOT drive in the rain with them on the car.

I ran the NT05's ...which I think are suppose to hook better than the 555's. They didnt work worth a shit. Since have switched to MT's S/S's. On my second set of those...I partake in a lot of late night street activities and they work awesome!

I had the NT05 305/35/19 on my car and I got 10K out of the tires. I drove it in the rain a few times and did not die. I currently have ET Street Rs and I have gotten caught in the rain and thought I was going to die. The 555R will be a good tire.

I run the 555Rs on my daily wheels. I think they are the best all around radial for DD based on my experience and research. They have solid grip and mileage. I have no problem putting down 720 in 2nd gear with little to no spinning and mine are pretty beat up from tracking them. When I run my 750hp/575tq setup it spins a bit more but still hooks up fine in 2nd. They would have lasted more than 10k miles easy if not for the many burnouts.

I run 305/35/20 555Rs on my car pushing 750whp and they work well on the street but i never drive my car in rain. I’m at 5k miles right now and almost at the wear bars. I will be buying a new set soon.

I've driven my car in downpours and I've never had a single issue. I just go slow and drive like I'm on drag radials. They're not slicks.

The MT ET Street S/S has actual tread patterns. It's not like the Street R.

Left is the Street S/S, right is the Street R.

it's all going to depend on the offset of the wheel. 45-48 would be the sweet spot. i ran this size tire on my 2012 GT with a 48 offset wheel lowered on BMR springs and it was perfect. had plenty of room to go under the fender and didn't stick out at all but looked aggressive

i have the nt555r on my car right now. im about 650rwhp and they work great. i live in a area where it rains alot and they need to be safe, in huge pours i need to slow it down; but at a prepped track, they're quite impressive for a 20" wheel. of course they'll never be a 15-18" DR; but for the street, they kickass!

be prepared to replace them quite often tho... :(
