Hi all, this is my first time here and on the forum. Apologies if this has been covered already.

I have 2016 GT autobox UK spec, performance pack.

It has 6,000 miles on the clock.

When in sport mode or after an overtake in normal Drive mode i get a burning smell, not all the time but enough that i then scroll through all the engine readouts and oil readouts.

All is reading fine, the engine temperature is fine and it does not effect teh drive of the car at all.

Oil was changed after 4,000 mile run in period.

Has anybody else noticed this or have any comments?

All i can think is that it is the new engine/ exhaust break in and it has been noticeable after changing to the Borla Street exhaust 1500 miles ago too.

Any help much appreciated!

If you mean something like an exhaust smell when you go WOT?

If so, I and many others get it as well … appears normal.

I get a little clutch smell on long wind outs. It's a natural wear item and normal. You want to monitor slow speed launches for clutch chatter. That's the sign somethings really going off.

Me too but the OP said autobox? No clutch?

Clutch is pretty distinctive. I still get some small rotten egg cat smell. But he didn't describe sulfur either.

Odd one. I suspect something contacting a manifold and burning off. Few dops of oil maybe spilled on it during a fluid top off. Pop the hood and look for a little smoke.

Your clutch should only slip when you are starting from a start.
It should not slip at all doing wide open pulls.
Burnt clutch smells like overheated brakes.

Rotten egg smells is the catalytic converters. Normal as they just get hotter from the wide open throttle.

mine did till 1500miles. I was worried if I was slipping the clutch too much when parking. but apparently it was just breaking in. no more smell.
