Ford have a TV commercial for the 'new' Ecosport. Pronounced, apparently, 'Echosport' (or Ekkosport  ).

Which obviously begs the question. Have we been pronouncing Ecoboost wrong? Or was it just me anyway?

i say "Ee-co"boost, but i was miffed when i heard the advert say "EKHO boost" Even my parents asked me if my car was an 'ekho boost' they're both spelt the same. (ecoboost/sport) Maybe they're trying to change perception by changing pronunciation.

Fuck knows whatever it is, mine will stay "eco" not "Ekho"

Maybe it's a regional thing like the weirdos up north that don't pronounce the "r" in bath

According to the Cambridge dictionary, in the UK we pronounce 'eco' (as a prefix) "Eeco", and in the US "Echo".

Thats the the opposite of what I thought, but there you go.

Both Oxford and Cambridge Dictionary are two of the most popular dictionaries around the world. ... However, the basic difference between them is the fact that the Oxford Dictionary is published by the Oxford University Press, whereas the Cambridge Dictionary is published by the Cambridge University Press.

Because you know, we needed two fucking dictionaries :lol:
