So I replaced my center speaker with a Polk db351. Had to modify the grill a bit but I am very happy with the speaker. Thanks to @Chef_jpd for the referral.

Odd thing is that my bass coming from the doors seems better. Is that just because the noise is cleaned up, or is it because somehow that speaker isn't using the low signal(used the bass blocker) and there is more for the doors?

Sorry if its a noob question! lol

Could have been an impedance change.

Hope you don't mind if I piggy back off your thread, I just wanted to add another hat tip to the pioneers here who blazed this trail.

Swapped out my center yesterday. Nice improvement for very little cost and effort.

This sounds great!

Here are some questions to help me fix my lack of bass on my vert:

!)What is a "bass blocker" on the new Polk speakers??

2) How do you turn it off or on?

3) Do these speakers come in pairs, so you have to sell the second one?

Chef was a big help to me too!

thanks for the answers.

This won’t really address the lack of bass, but it will certainly clean up your front sound stage and allow the bass you do have to shine through. They come with a bass blocker and it’s wired in line.

Yes they come in pairs, but as you can see there is a market for them. ^^^^^

Ultimately to address my bass needs I replaced my sub in the trunk with Polk unit. It’s an improvement, but at some point I am going to run a dedicated amp to it as well.

Just found this thread, is the center speaker easy to remove? I did not know about a "Center" front speaker, this is news. I want a speaker too. $

Yes you remove the long metal piece with your vents in it and then the grill pops right off.

*On non PP cars the Polk unit will require the grill to be ground a little because of clearance on the tweeter.

I stuffed my stock sub with a whole bag of poly fill. Made a difference and was worth it.
Now, who has an extra speaker for my center channel?

Did you buy a speaker harness or was it plug and play?

The factory speaker has a connector that is soldered on, remove it and solder to new speaker.

Anyone from the Toronto/Hamilton/golden horseshoe want to go half-in on a box of these?

I'll order the pair and sell the one at half my cost.

PM me if interested.
