F1R ProCharger questions

So I found an insane deal on a Stage 2 F1R ProCharger for sale brand new still wrapped up. I was just wanting to know all the supporting mods you would need to make the supercheegee run as efficient as possible on a stock motor for now... Made me think the dude is selling it for so cheap because of all the other things you have to do to support the power. If anyone could help me out and lost off what all would be needed to support that much power it would be appreciated. Also, would this big of a unit be too big for a daily? Or is this kit really just made for racing? Thanks for the input!

I don't think it's even possible to rrun that blower on a stock motor,or let's just say it would not make sence.

Unless you are going to run E85 all the time, (or race fuel)
I can't see you being able to turn that blower down below 15/16psi

Its hard enough to turn down a D1SC to 12psi.

What if I limit the boost externally, like using a larger pulley and a wastegae to open up after it hits a certain psi to let out excessive boost?

I seem to say this about once a week.

Every single person I know that has done a gated centrifugal blower. (not just our brand) has removed the gate, and just ran the blower normally.

Makes for nice dyno graphs.
But its hard on blower gear sets,
Makes a lot of extra heat for the intercooler to cool down.
Runs the risk of it overboosting.

Seems you could spend the money on the correct kit new, (P1X or D1X)
And end up with the same result.

That car you link'ed to is on E85.
Think the OP is talking more of a pump gas kinda deal.


And I have customers going 8's with D1X's...set up like normal no gate.
Heck MAK is going 9.9's with a P1X now on their 2018. (I have a customer with a normal P1X thats gone 9.30's)

Im not here to argue, nor am I am saying it doesn't work
But I am stating facts...

- it makes nice dyno graphs
- its hard on blower gearsets
- it technically raises the IAT's per psi of boost
- its hard on belts and cranks.

And literally every person I know that has done it off and on over the last 15 years. (yes 15 years) Has eventually just put the car back to normal.

They usually sell the wastegate, and buy an aftermarket TQ converter.
And go faster.

Since a proper set up converter, the RPM wouldn't ever really be low enough to effect that "area" of the curve the gate would be assisting.

OP didnt say anything about not using e85. Unless its not available there are no reasons not to use e85.

And agree D1X is prolly a better option.

Agreed as long as E85 is available there is no reason to not use it even for a daily.

I live in ND and e85 is everywhere I daily'd an E85 car for years. In the summer. Pulley up run 93 in the winter.

Edit. Depending on the price of that F1 kit the OP is talking about and if he can get e85 not id run it feed it some e85 and let it eat.

It would obviously leave plenty of room to grow into the blower haha. Save for a short block LOL!!

ND is one of the lucky states.

Even here in KC, we only have (3) decent stations around the city.
And I personally only trust (1).
Making E85 a pain to daily.

Sometimes the hassle is worth it. E85 in this case fits that

E85 is epic... since I first used it in like 2004 I been hooked.

However, I only put it in the toys.
The daily's all get tuned on 91.

You’re going to need a return fuel system, injectors, use e85, run the largest pulley (lowest boost) possible and you’ll still make 1000whp+ depending on shift point. Also you could lower the shift point to make less boost since it’s rpm dependent. FWIW I’m on a 5” blower pulley, shift @ 7800rpm and see 17psi...this is basically as “turned down” as it gets and I still went almost 150mph in 1320’ lol.
