Ferrari, lambo, audi, dodge, Austin Martin, I'm missing some.

Point is they all have around 600hp NA engines passing emissions.

Ferrari is now up to 789hp in a non special edition car. Emissions compliant.

VAGs 5.2@631hp and 443tq is especially good.

FORD has lots of ceiling with their NA engines. It just comes down to R&D which, unfortunately, the new management will castrate I fear. Shovel that capital to mobility projects. Booo.
Ferrari, lambo and Aston are in different situation where super low Production allows them too and there using V12. What 600hp NA cars does Audi (lambo sourced v10) or dodge have (viper is dead). Tell me what the highest HP V8 is?

Mach 1 = 5.4L CPC N/A
GT500 = 5.2L CPC Supercharged

Somewhat similar to the Charger 392 vs the Charger Hellcat as far as trims/packages go.

I could see that. A NA car making 480-515 hp and a GT500 making 750+.

I mean, they have gone away with the V6. So if true your options would be, Ecoboost, GT, Mach 1 and GT500.

edit: Mach 1 will get released in 2018, and the GT500 will come in 2019.

From what I'm led to believe.
Ford designed/develops/builds the motors in the Aston.
Thought Mercedes took over the honor but found out that I was wrong.

Interesting posts, Sir!

Is this wishful thinking, or do you have friends in the know? :gossip:

Whatever.....that's pretty much what I'd love to see :)

The only downside i see is only 1,358 cars! ADM would be crazy.
Yep...
Maybe ford would think of the little guy and have an application process for mustang owners - kinda like what they did for GT guys. Sad thing is the GT guys would probably get first jab at those too.:(

Idk, but I'd do everything possible to get one - except pay 50k+ adm which I'm sure they would command.

Yeah..

I'm just thinking if Ford were to do something like that..they'd mirror the original production figured for the first Boss 429, which was 1,358 cars between 1969 and 1970.

Man I hope not. I won't pay a 10+ plus ADM for a car already over 70K. Too me it seems like a lot of profit left on the table for Ford if you only produce 1300-1500 cars when they could easily sell 3-4K.

Do you know how much larger the engine would be (weight wise) then the 5.0? Also has ford even made something like this yet? I'm trying to find some info online and can't find anything. Sounds like this would be a completely new venture.

This would be an addition to the gt500, not leaving out that. They would sell 5000+ gt500/year still.

The ford fr9 ? racing engine which produces 900hp is roughly 1/2 the weight of the old 429. Im guessing it won't be that but maybe would be around 650 HP and weigh maybe 100+ lbs more than the 5.2. These are guesses. If it even happens.
