For the cars with the magneride I believe it optimizes launches similar to the GT350, autos shift much firmer and it's also my understanding that it removes/reduces torque limiting.

It firms up the front suspension and softens the rear for Magneride cars. Shifts are quicker and way more aggressive, similar to power shifting. Over all the car feels much quicker in drag mode for a straight line pull

Manual trans cars get more aggressive throttle response and way less intrusive traction control. The traction control will come on if you totally blow the tires off, but otherwise stays out of the way.

Here is a video I did this weekend. I have a non-magride. What I've noticed changes is it's shift points and how it delivers the power to the rear. In drag mode the car will literally chirp the tires to 4th. When it shifts, it snaps your neck each time. This wasn't even a good test as I just stopped and left on it but you can see it kick traction control on at 85mph when it shifts to 4th. This was a 90 degree day and tires were plenty warm.

In the A10 without mag ride it firms up shifts big time, it shifts at 7800rpm and puts a chit eating grin on your face. :headbang:

Unless it sticks in 1st at 7800 rpms, then you panic and wonder wtf just happened.

Bumping this up, any idea what the 1/4 mile time & mph difference would be on a base car without drag mode?

I've seen a few times where it's mentioned drag mode can add around .3 tenths and a +2-3mph. You can feel it too. Dragmode is violent in it's shifting and revs out to 7800.

That matches the results I got. The shifter had to be in drive and AdvanceTrac off to get the full effect.

P1- [email protected] Drag mode, shifter in Sport mode, traction control off, and 5000 RPM burnout. Left the line @ 1500. No wheel spin and soft shifts.

P4- [email protected] Drag mode, shifter in Drive, Advancetrac off, and 5000 RPM burnout. Left the line off idle. Lots of wheel spin, wheel hop through third, and hard shifts.

Cheers,

If I read this correctly, drag mode is only available for PP cars. Is it possible to activate it on non-PP cars?

Base cars with the 301a option have it as well.

You can have a base PP car w/o drag mode.

Simply put, drag mode is awesome and well worth the extra money for the 301a package.
