from what i have read and heard is that the S mode softens the shift as its more road course based so it doesnt upset the balance.. i have no proof but makes sense.. did you stall the car up any? reviews seem to say stalling between 1k-1500 is the sweet spot

Chime in as well. Definitively leave it in D in drag mode and press that track control toggle button for 7 sec or how long ever it takes to get rid of the nannies .

With Stop the hop, my launches where drama free and planted so it is probably doing its job.

But this cars with the 20 inch rims and 265 good year tire and surprisingly sticky of the line after the tire is at temp wish is really easy to achieve being a 500 thread wear tire.

But it looks like they do suffer a little bit at end MPH end as I don't think I will be reaching 118 mph as some of the other super low 12's and high eleven cars are doing.

But the 1800-2000 rpm trans load is a must off the line for the stock car, I did a stomp acceleration launch and it ran a 12.9. My 60 feet where avg at best with 2.0 as I do not have a lot of experience at the track so I was probably not holding 1800 rpm's properly and my foot work off the line probably needs some work as well.

The launch will be different once you get power adders on and I do believe once you get that 20-30 extra hp (50hp if you get E-85) from the basic bolt on's, better rubber is a must to get the best times and launches.

You might also want to read up on Loki-GT post here on the drag forum and watch Stangmode on you tube, he did stock launches followed by after mod's launches. Pretty informative. I do not know what your experience level is but it always helps to see the techniques used by other that are achieving the low 12 and high 11 times, and better DA off course are a world of a differece:thumbsup:

Best of luck to you, and even if you did not do great this time around, at least you are not a Dyno queen, you are out there putting the car on the track :headbang: :D

Do we know if we are to be using drag mode in drive or sport or if there’s any difference at all?
After a conversation with Jon Lund Jr. drive mode should be used. Apparently, if I heard and understand Jon Jr. correctly, "sport" mode uses a fairly aggressive retard table under limited traction circumstances, which of coarse is bad for ET's. It seems that this was done with road racing in mind.

Well, we already know what these cars run anyway. Theres plenty out there doing it and they are all the same. No need to beat your car up or deal with jerks.

1800-2k..

Got me 2.1-2.3 60 ft times.

The mentioned starting line antics did not help.

Come on out to Street Fights in Bristol! I’m going and I know the weather won’t be optimal but it’s still fun. I have a 2015 Magnetic Metallic GT. Would love to run your car.

You were there the last time I went I think. Back in June of 16? You had a red S197?

Don't feel bad lol. I ran 8.70 @ 80 mph w/ 2.32 60ft with massive wheel hop 1st-4th (MT82). :frusty: Did manage to get 114mph in the 1/4 though. Shocked I picked up 34mph in the last half :D

LETHAL, I think I saw your car parked way back in parking lot. DAs weren’t great yesterday but didn’t expect them to be. Still had some fun and there were some quick cars. The McLaren and Lamborghini were fast! S197 guy with twin turbo setup was impressive.

I will try that.. ty
Keep in mind that "flash up" could also break the tires loose so it's a fine line. ;) I found I got 1.9's keeping the rpm's to around 1800/1900 or so, less flash up but also less spin from the same 20" Goodyears.
