Hello. I'm thinking about getting a GT premium. I currently own a camaro. I've test driven both the GT and the new SS. Even though I liked the SS I kinda liked the GT better. My question is should it be worth to wait for the 2018 since supposedly they might do a refresh? Is 2018 for sure going to be a refresh?

would look at leftover 16s for a big discount or wait for an 18. I wouldnt get a 17 knowing something is coming and being that theres hardly any differences between the 16 and 17. 17 F150 is getting the 10 speed and there are indications the mustang is getting it

Bravo for test driving both cars before posting...

I'd hold out for 18 but if the itch is that bad just do it. What if by chance you dont like the refresh.

It depends on how much you liked the current GT. The '18 refresh will be a better car, but waiting over a year and the fact that you won't get nearly as good of deal needs to be considered. The current car is amazing, so it just depends on what your priorities are.

Me personally I would wait for the 18 with the new transmission. I love my car with the 6r80 but would love the 10 speed. Really wish they went with an 8 speed in the 2015+. I'm assuming there might be a slight bump in power too.

I would wait until there some spy photos of the the supposed 2018 refresh, more information about the certainty of the 10 speed automatic and any other planned performance or mechanical upgrades.
And hopefully, a new Mach 1.
If you don't like what comes out, you can always buy a 2017.
I suspect it's safe to say that we are all waiting to see what Ford has planned for the '18 Mustang.

Get the 2016.

There's no guarantee the 2018 will have a new tranny and even if it does its likely to be an expensive option.

Plus who knows what the refresh is going to be. Could be relatively minor or less attractive. I remember being pretty disappointed by the 2010 refresh.

Interesting. I actually really, really like the 2010-2012 exterior. All of the S197 interiors left me at "meh" or "yuck", but I did like the '11 and '12 GTs quite a lot. The first cycle S197s are not aging all that well, IMO.

All a matter of opinion. Most people I talk to prefer the 05-09 S197.

I agree, I had an 06 for nine years and it aged very well. Not a day of trouble other than an alternator after 7 years. I didn't care for the refresh in 10.

Screw waiting. You could be run over by a bus next week. Get a 16 at discount and trade it in on an 18 if the refresh has more of what your looking for.
