Hey friends made a search and from what i saw hood and fenders are made of aluminum. But is the trunk lid roof and doors have aluminum? Or maybe also the inside crash bars of the doors made from aluminum?

Hood, yes. Roof and doors, no... but I'm not sure about the trunk.

Easy way to check: use a magnet and a thin piece of cloth (to protect the paint).

Ford and aluminum panels on Mustangs have a very mixed history. Even my garage-kept, no salt exposure, seldom rain-driven S197 has the start of aluminum oxidation on the hood in the usual spots.

Ford: "Quality is Job...umm...Seven?" :D

trunk is aluminum yes.

From all the sources I have seen the S550 has aluminum hood and front fenders only.....the S197's only had aluminum hoods.

And yes they can oxidize the front inner seam ate through on some S197's, most had some oxidation there.

i remember an interview that said the trunk was aluminum. However my memory is a bit foggy on that. If I can prove/disprove ill update.
Until then, assume the trunk is steel for whatever purpose you may have

Roush recommended to use corrosion sealant for the holes when appying their spoiler.
CDC did not.
MMD recommended nail polish..

hmm.

Used a magnet and the trunk and roof are steel only fenders and hood are aluminum. Had an evo8 and its roof and trunk where aluminum ford should save some weight in those parts.

Even though the hood is made from aluminum, it sure feels heavy as hell. Wonder how much it actually weight??

Since the hood has no structural benefits, could Ford just use fiberglass to save some weight?

Probably, but composites don't lend themselves well to mass production. Can't just stamp 'em out like you can with metal.

I can personally vouch that after installing Roush hood scoop and trunk spoiler that:
Hood is aluminum and trunk is steel.

The trunk is definitely steel - as I sometimes have to use a magnetised country identifier when I take the car abroad... and it sticks to the trunk :)

Which makes total sense that they worked on the front of the car for better front to rear weight distribution.

The trunks and hoods on the SN95's or at least the 99-04 were fiberglass. I wonder if ford had some bad experiences with them or they are heavier than I think they are.
