Is it possible to open trunk with having proximity key in your pocket? Looked in manual and sounds like you should be able to, but location they show is where the backup camera is.

If the doors are unlocked,it will open with a touch. You dont need the key. If they are locked touch the same sensor with key on person and it will open.

There's a button just above the license plate.

Touching the backup camera lense?
No, you have to put your left eye up to the backup camera lens. After it obtains a retina scan, it will honk the horn twice and the trunk will open.

Programming it is just as easy. Keep your left eye 1-1.5" from the lens and wait for the reverse light to flash for confirmation.

You guys get these kinds cool tech goodies! I was pretty sold when my buddy flicked on seat coolers for me when I got in his s550 GT.

I feel so left out in my old s197s...

The button is not where I thought it would be. I agree, it seems like it should be where the backup camera is. But it's down by the license plate. You'll feel it, top-center.

Does it matter if you are blind? Will this still work?

At least it has a trunk opening button. My 2012 v6 didn't (that I could ever find anyway).
