Anyone buy an extended warranty EXCLUSIVELY because of evaporator fears?

I always plug Flood Ford on these threads. Best price you will find.
Same here. I got the 8 year/60,000 mile, $0 deductible for a great price and peace of mind! Also got the light bulb coverage for the HIDs.

Ive never been a fan of extended warranties, esp aftermarket. I think of you take your car to ford for oil changes, maintence etc and it goes out after warranty is up possible chance your local ford dealer where you bought it from might do a goodwill or partial help?

How does this apply to a evap core failure? Chance is right is in SLIM chance.

Ive worked at dealers most of my life, chances are much greater of a good will adjustment if you go back to selling dealer and do your services there. If you go to some dealer you didnt buy or do service work at,chanes are pretty much 0

If it did not have the Achilles Heel of the evaporator, I might agree with you. But throw the evap in the picture, and a transmission (or whatever) is gravy.

Add in the fact that I bought the car on a whim (out of state at Koons, 600 miles away) and nah. I'm sold on it.

If you get a plan with a deductible, does that apply to the entire warranty or just after the typical 3/36?

So is everyone having this evaporator issue? How common is it and are there cars out there that don't have this issue? I just ordered an 18' so I'm a bit concerned.

Do the HID bulbs have issues also? Expensive?

The premium plan covers the HID components. https://www.floodfordesp.com/pdf/PremiumCARE_Ford_ESP.pdf
Lighting is an extra cost. I forget how much

I didn't bother with it as if mine go out I'll upgrade. In to what I don't know yet

I thought it was only 15s mostly and some 16s but I could be way off base.
I have a 15, right at 3 years old and 29k miles so I think I'm good but with that one repair being much higher than the cost I paid for warranty, I'm good with my purchase

Same question - why is bulb coverage worth it? Is it difficult or expensive to change the HIDs?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. They are on ebay all day long...

with the newer LED lights it might be worth it. i don't know about the Mustang but on a Challenger one LED tailight assy is $1500 and it's not the LED's that are the issue it's the circuit boards that fail
