Hey All,

New poster here. Just put in an order at Beefcake for a D-1x setup for my 17 GT. That said Im wondering if I should have gone F-1.

I'd like to shoot for a minimum 9.9 on the stock block. I know eventually something will probably give at this level, but when it does, I'd like to have room to move upwards.

I don't really care so much about the horsepower levels, but would like to eventually be in the low 9's or even potentially at an 8.9 way down the road with the car fully built.

I guess my question is, is the F-1 feasible on the stock engine? If not, can the D-1x push into the low 9's?

My opinion is the F-1 is a lot for a stock engine I would stick to the D1X. The D1X should be good for 900-1000 Wheel. It will accomplish the majority of your goals.

Perfect, I appreciate the response. One quick question for you—I’m completely new to Centris...I’ve had numerous turbo setups but while I know you still can wastegate a centri down, do you have any idea what kind of boost the d-1x will make on the stock kit without a wastegate?

For a stock engine on 93 on a stage II kit I would recommend the largest pulley. You will probable see 650 plus on that set up.

Bought my D1x from the beef, you wont be disappointed. I made 723/519 rwhp on pump with cats, i've since removed them so figure its up maybe another 20 more rwhp & thats with the stock pulley (4.88). E85 and a fuel system would give me another 100..but i'm to busy enjoying my 723...lol. its a 1000 hp blower. i make my # spinning the blower at just 42k max rpm its max rating is 62k....so imagine the possibilities...Get yourself a mak performance 4 inch inlet, it picks up good power sounds like a rabid animal.

Very nice! I assume peak power is north of 7000 with the GT 350 intake?

The D1X is sounding more and more the route I want to go. I think I need to ride in both a Whipple and a centri car to really make the decision. 750 wheel is what I want, but with room to grow.

I would go with the whipple because it makes more power under the curve and you can run the same 1/4 numbers with a tighter stall if you are an auto.

Wastegate a centri and it will have almost the same power curve as a Whipple.

A well tuned, properly geared centri can hit just as hard from say 40-45mph as a similarly modded/fueled Whipple/TVS car. There I said it.
