Whats up ya'll! I have to say there wasnt much info on how to do this, on the S550's, so I hope this helps everyone looking to change their tranny fluid on their own. With that said this was incredibly easy and I would not worry about doing it yourself.

  • Tools needed:
  • Rachet
  • 5/16 Allen Wrench (will fit on both but easier to loosen drain plug with socket)
  • 5/16 Allen Socket (wont fit on fill plug - not enough room)
  • 3qt of BG Syncroshift II (or any other fluid of your choice)
  • Fluid pump for qt bottles (https://amzn.com/B000BQW5LK)

Video and Review:

***Note: You can also remove the shifter bezel and feed the fluid line into the fill hole. I could not do this because I have an aftermarket short throw and that area is fully closed off with dynamat.

Thanks for the video. Seeing it done makes a big difference to doability.

[I don't understand why there has to be overlayed music that interferes with the spoken instructions on ANY Mustang 'help' video on YouTube]

Great video, bro!

I also agree with M3Convert. Seeing this done on video makes the transmission oil change seem much more doable.

I did this, same fluid. Zero difference in clunkiness and noise. Perhaps slightly "softer" feeling engagement but that's it.

That said, video - very helpful for folks. As you can see, ridiculously simple task made even more simple by the BG package the OP bought.

Id say it was weird that you had a different result, but that seems to be normal with this transmission.

Thanks for kind words!

So the whole measure, eighth inch below fill line stuff is not necessary? Just go until it seeps out the fill hole?

Nope, not at all.

Did I hear correctly in the video that you just used ramps? Did you only have the front end elevated or was the rear on jack stands? I've heard others say the car needs to be level to do this fluid change.
