[found an un-documented cooler] does base/tech pack have engine oil cooler?

some may say, no it doesn't, b/c order guide never mentioned it. that is fair. so this morning I took a good look at my car, it has tech pack

-driver side lower grill opening clearly has some sort of rad for cooling


-passenger side has none, all plastic


-open the hood, look at where the oil filter might be, saw a silver thingie with 2 hoses coming out


looks like it could be going to the driver side opening grill cooler


a quick scan of the fordparts.com catalog shows some interesting results:


6B850B looks very close to the two hoses in the above two pics i took



at this stage, I have more questions than answers

1. does base/tech car have some sort of engine coolers? (most likely yes base on the catalog)
2. does the track/r car have "additional" engine coolers? (99.99% yes)
3. what does the rad in the driver side lower grill do? can't find it on the catalog...

please discuss.

p.s. the wrap is trakktape just a temp solution, I don't have time to get a full clear bra yet, still waiting for laser pre-cut template.

the pre production model i have seen was a base and it had the gauges.

Even the regular GT has an oil cooler. I think the Track Pack only upgrades the oil cooler, not adding one where none existed.

its possible,but I do not believe it is



I need to double check tonight but i think the A/C Condenser is behind the main front rad.

A/C condenser should be in front of the radiator.

that will be my guess; seems to me at least tech pack has an engine oil cooler.

another member with a track pack says he will lift his car tonight and take pics.

It's most likely the oil cooler. Owner manual says that for the base and tech package, its recommended for track days that a transmission cooler and differential cooler be added. Nothing about an oil cooler.

Yep. When we had it on the lift I followed the lines from the pass side back to the trans and I also popped the oil filter cover to see the lines running from the aluminum fitting to the cooler on the driver side.
