Hello,

I know there has been speculation in other threads about when the new Mustang will actually arrive at dealerships but I wonder what the current thinking is on that subject? Having never stalked a new model vehicle like this, I don't know how it's typically done - for example, is there some sort of embargo on the car until all the dealers coast to coast get them? Or will they arrive on the east coast and west coast later than dealerships in the center of the country? What about models, will all the trim levels be available at launch or will some be easier to get than others?

I've called my local dealer and he was able to tell me about what he had coming but he had no clue when they would "land." Like many of you, I want to test drive this car badly and see if it lives up to the hype.

Oh, bonus additional question...GT350 - this calendar year or next?

Thank you,

My local dealership in Burlington VT expects to get their first car in mid October. Mustangs are not big sellers up here so its very likely that high volume dealers in warmer climates will have them before that, at around the end of September.

My dealer of choice said the same thing. They are expecting their first cars late September. There is another dealer in my area though that has a DIB 051A V6 (most likely the car I will buy) awaiting shipment since the 25th of august and if it ships out on the 9th they might have it in mid September. So to sum everything up, we have been hearing mid to late September for dealer arrival.

Edit: I should clarify that ford has the "OK to sell" date on the 15's at September 9th. I am assuming that all production vehicles that have been built since the 18th of August will complete the quality control testing and will start shipping out on this date. All vehicles after this date should follow the normal schedule instead of being held for quality control.

2016 performance model (call it gt350) in 2014 calendar year? Not even close to likely.

Look for it late spring 2015 at the earliest.

Yeah I wouldn't expext the GT-350 to hit Lots Until sometime Next Year. I have a feeling we just might get another Early Christmas Present from Ford this year though...

How about this, do you think we will have details about the GT350 before the end of this calendar year? Things like price, performance, specs and ship date?

I agree that it seems unlikely Ford will steal thunder from the GT until after they initial wave of pent-up buying takes place and hype dies down. However I keep coming back to the fact that the original Shelby GT350 was a 1965 model and it makes sense to have that be reimagined 50 years later...if it ships as a "2016" model it just sounds wrong. Now I suppose as you suggest, it could ship spring and still be a 2015...I'd be quite happy with that. I just don't know enough about the car industry to know if this is common practice, to roll out some cars/trims in the early fall and others 4-6 months later in the same model year.

Considering how long it's taken us so long to get info on the V-6, Eco-Boost, and GT, I highly doubt that We'll get any Details on the GT-350 before the end of the year, but I am thinking we Might get to See It before Christmas.
