Like many of you, I’m ready to purchase a set of coilovers.

Its proving to be a hard decision as there is now a decent selection to choose from

Below is a list of what is currently available on the market along with their MSRP and links to their description.

I’d like to know what your opinions are and if you’re considering any of these coilovers and the reasons why.

FWIW, my car is a daily driver an will not see any track time. Also, I’ve had previous experience with KW V1, V3 and clubsports on BMW M cars and VW R32s and they performed very well, but I’m open to any quality product.

Also, in a couple of weeks, I’ll have a chance to ride in aFe’s own S550 equipped with their FeatherLight coilovers.

On to the list…

DUDE! That's awesome that you took the time to put this together. I don't remember where I read that Roush Coilovers were made by KW. Jay from Hypermotive said they installed the Roush coilovers on their cars and they really really like them.

I'm not positive that KWs make Roush's coilovers, but from the CJ Pony Parts description of the KW coilovers, it seems that KW may manufacture them for Roush or Roush uses KW parts. Whether they do or not, I guess it really doesn't matter since they are both quality products.

Are you looking to pickup coilovers?

Yes sir, I was originally going to go with Steeda springs but I was told the ride quality is better with Coilovers. I was think KW or Roush. aFe and Cortex look awesome but out of my price range for my daily driven GT.

Yes sir they are expensive. Exactly why I'm wavering between options. aFe, Cortex and Ridetech look great, but I'm hesistant to drop that much coin on a daily driver that won't see the track.

KW or Roush look to be great. I can vouch for KW as I have purchased and used their products before and they performed outstandingly.

Are you thinking single adjustables or double adjustables for KW / Roush?...yet another decision lol.

I'm going to go with the V1. I just want a good ride with even tire wear. Will I need camber plates to make the tires sit flat?

Yes, for the KWs, I believe you will need Camber Plates. Some of the other options like RideTech come with this type of adjustability.

Here are the best options for Camber Plates...

Maximum Motorsports (247.00 / pair)

Cortex Racing (349.00 / pair)

Will I only need them in the front?
Yes only the front. Unless you're going really low like below 2".

I'm not going much lower than 1.5" front and a little less rear so I will only purchase front plates if they're not included with whichever coilover I decide on.

It's funny that the cheapest priced option, BC, include camber plates with their coilovers but the more expensive options, KW V1 & Roush V1, do not.

Also, the rear already comes with camber adjustment so nothing additional is needed. If you wanted complete control, adjustable toelinks and adjustable lower control arms would allow for further adjustment.

You should list whether each is progressive spring, linear, or has options for different rates.
