Hey Ecostangs
Just wondering what gas to put on my ecoboost.
Already tried chevron, arco, valero, and shell.
In san jose california we mostly carry octane rating of 87-91.
I want the best performance fuel on my vehicle.

I would only put 91 and from either shell or chevron. 93 is rare to find for us California people :/ heck I don't even know of a place that sells 93 or E85

That sucks. 93 is everywhere here, though I've been trying to find a gas station with ethanol free

I'm in the Bay Area as well.

Shell or chevron only.

Stay far away from Arco.

Chevron or Valero is consistently the two best I've recorded logs with. Shell (for me at least) has always been lower quality and that's from what I've seen in the 3 surrounding states.

Tune+ can tell you his thoughts as he's seen almost every type of gas imaginable.

If I want cheap gas in Germany, my only choice is Esso, (Exxon in the US)
The good news is All stations except the absolute smallest ones have Super+ (98 RON/93AKI) and 5% ethanol and I have not had a bad tank yet. I did once get a bad tank from an independent station (OAR on the Cobb dropped from -1 to -0.2) and will avoid those in the future.

Has there been a problem with higher ethanol blend fuels? I would run an E30 tune if there were more E85 stations around here.

I only use 93 octane. Usually I go to BP, Valero, or Sunoco. Not sure which ones are the best. I'm sure Adam could tell us which stations to stay away from.

Here's a snapshot of all the Valeros in San Antonio, it's pretty much a monopoly and our only choice now. There headquarters are here and obviously do not shy away from letting there presence be known. Some stations have E85 mostly located in the NW side where I live.
