Quality Hood Struts

Howdy, I'm new to the S550 scene and i'm starting the upgrade process. I'm looking into Hood Struts and wondered which brand are the best quality? and who has the best deals goin on them?

ps: does this site have discount codes often??

Do you have O Reilly 's there in Az . If so check into them for Quality hood struts ... got mine there and made up my own brackets .. $ 50.00 and still going strong after 3 years ...

I have redline and like them. Look up:

Steeda
FRPP

I have Redlines but if you don't need a stainless finish, go with Steeda. Redlines don't fit 2018s worth nickel but this wouldn't apply to you. Search for the post comparing strut diameter and you'll see that Redline is a smaller D tube.

Steeda. You get what you pay for.

I appreciate all the replies. I located a discount code & picked up these Ford Racing M16826MA Mustang Hood Strut Kit for $67 which from what I researched isn't a bad price at all.look rather sharp as well. Thanks Again

I broke two sets of those before LMR said pick another under warranty. Went with Steeda and have had them on two different cars now.

Cancel your order... again.. get what you pay for.

I appreciate the advice. like all things there are some bad apples in every brand. it sucks but it is what it is. I'll give these a try for now.. My research showed some say Redline, Roush, Steeda. so then its a question of who do you believe? was it just a defective part? or a bad batch? (happens too much now days) just as it did 20, 30yrs ago. QC has gone out the window IMO.

I'll update this thread once installed & used for a while..

I love my Steeda struts.

It's amazing how much better it feels to open and close the hood with these.

Steeda here too. They work great.

Hey OP, why bother even asking? You posted this AM and one hour later made a purchase?? Even when several told you Steeda worked well, you chose something different. All about price huh?

My Ford Racing set rusted after 6 months.
Replaced them with Redlines, and they have been perfect.

Redline. Picked them up used (but mint) for about $35% off typical pricing, fit perfectly, work exactly as expected, still look brand new.

What's "wrong" with the stock "lasts forever" hood prop? ;)
