Ford is going to move away from all cars not named Mustang and Focus. Mustang is too much of a cash cow/storied name plate/ showroom traffic driver to get rid of. Other than the F-Series what has a longer uninterrupted history at FMC than Mustang?

Still holding out for a BOSS C-MAX...
Yeah, and a Transit Cobra R!

Really though, it seems like the shadow of the "Mach 1" is just a Ford Edge with a Mustang front end

So the new Mach 1 is a Mazda CX-9?

Gotta watch out for those revolutionary square wheels.
It's just lacking the same QC Mazda has. :D

I have been beating this dead horse for a while. The future is electric and autonomous. It won't be an immediate change but a gradual one. If major automakers intend to stay competitive they must change with the environment. The shifting of R&D budgets and hybridizing the older product lines will come first.

I'm holding out for my flying car.

This is the 1990s all over for Ford. Ignoring passenger cars in favor of their "SUV future". Meanwhile Camrys, Corrolas, Accords, and Civics outsell every Ford SUV.

"That means you're going to see from us electrifying our most iconic nameplates starting with the hybrid version of F- 150 and Mustang where the hybrid system delivers the same amount of performance that Mustang customers expect with an iconic vehicle."

I have no problem with an electrified future as long as petrol and ICE vehicles are still attainable for us enthusiasts!
