Like behind the front wheels or in front of them? Either way not sure how you're making that turn, especially if you want LTs at some point. Exhausts work best straight through.

If you just want side exhausts in front of the rear wheels would probably work.

I’m talking about above the body line of the 5.0 emblem, where the fender is flat.

Bought a pair of BBK Shorty “Tuned Length” Headers in the chrome platting and then ceramic coated and baked it myself with VHT header paint in a matte aluminum finish. Once they were done drying for a day, I baked them and then wrapped them in DEI’s “Titanium Header Wrap.” I wanted and needed to keep the stock location of where the collector ends and as close to the engine bay as possible to route the exhaust up into the fenders. These were my only option.

Next I needed a pair of custom resonators to help with drone and popping under deceleration. Problem is I needed clear the small area within the fender, so I called Spintech and they made a pair. Measurements are 2 1/4” ID X 3” OD X 5” Long for the resonators.

Exhaust is set up to consist of :

- BBK shorty headers
- JLT 100mm Intake
- Spintech Custom Resonators (2 1/4” ID x 3” OD x 5”)
- Vibrant 4” Flex Pipe (so the exhaust piping can be stationary within the fenders)
- x6 Vibrant V-Band Clamps (for quick disassembly)
- Catalytic covert deletes
- The exhaust tubing will be 2 1/4” piping due to clearance issues going through the k-member and fenders

The car will be tuned by Lund Racing on 93.

The concept/plan is to make a u-bend exiting the BBK collector, up and through above the k-member or lower control arm, then pie-cut and weld the exhaust pipe accordingly to exit through the top of the fender. All of the exhaust tubing will still stay behind the fender liner and clear the tires at full turn (already mapped and tested).

Once all the exhaust piping is done, I’m gonna pull it off, ceramic coat them, bake them, wrap them with DEI’s “Titanium Header Wrap.”

I have everything ready to go, will be starting this project April 6th - 8th.

That sounds pretty cool. Definitely shoot us some pics when you get the piping in, I bet others would love to see it too.

Cool idea.
The exhaust exit temperatures would be a concern on the bodywork and paint.
Since the exhaust has little distance to cool as it travels have you considered a post exit plate with high-heat protection?
Something like these?

Yessir! My buddies next door at the hot rod shop (I work in a body shop, they’re sister companies along with a mechanical shop next door as well) are gonna fab up a shroud/plate out of aluminum where it’ll exit on the exhaust.

Subbed to see and hear this once you're done.
I’ll start posting pictures and what not once the headers and intake are installed and with the tune uploaded. I’ll post a video of open headers as well, cause I gotta move it next door to the hot rod shop once the headers are in.

But like I said, won’t see much until April 6th.

I was wondering which aftermarket headers were closest to stock headers.
Cool looking build, anxious to see it finished.
