I'm toying around with the idea of replacing the clutch packs and intermediate shaft myself while the trans is out of the car for my Circle D. I've watched the Exedy video and have the Ford service manual but was wondering if there was a write-up anywhere detailing this upgrade? I've searched with no luck.

If there isn't a guide out there does anyone have any tips or tricks for someone who has never been inside the 6R80?

All help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!.

I was the automatic transmission guy when I turned a wrench for a living years ago. If you’ve never been inside an auto trans before, I’d suggest you have someone with experience take care of it.

If you want to go ahead and train yourself on your own transmission then keep everything godly clean, use no-lint rags, and ensure you have all the correct tools. Use a torque wrench for everything. Clutch packs will need clearances checked as you are replacing those components. End play will need to be checked on the shaft that you are replacing.

Good luck.
