Well today I popped down to the dealer to see the new 18 in person, what can I say but I just  it

I was undecided in the brochure with the new look, but I think it looks stunning, love the gloss black grill and the new lights with tri bars

Interior, what can I say but I just love those gauges:love:, the new start button, on this model there was no change to the centre console, no added leather or anything, steering wheel looked thicker

Don’t even get me started on the active exhaust :love::love:, such a great sound and so adjustable

Still think the bonnet looks better on the 15, than the new bonnet, hood vents were ok, colour did very little for me but that could be because it was very dark inside

Overall a stunning beast, if you have one on order you are going to be well chuffed, the trouble I have now is do I need one and is it worth the new price

I thought all models came with the upgraded materials on the dash and centre console?

This is an Ecoboost from recently landed in Holland

Yep, only comes with custom pack (which I didn’t choose).

However, I guess if someone really wants it, probably can order one separately from Ford at some point

Those tempted I'd say go nowhere near an 18, because once you sit in one, your sold because the very first you notice:

- Digital dash, it is bloody stunning and so crystal clear, even in bright sunlight.
- Then the steering wheel, its thicker and a softer leather, feels like a BMW M wheel, much nicer.
- Then you spot all the leather on the centre console area (custom pack only).

As such the impression of the car from behind the wheel even without the engine running is one of a much more finished car, it feels more up market and the digital dash is just gorgeous.

Then when you start, the active exhaust, Ford absolute got the tone of the exhaust bang on and in track mode I'd say its close to Corsa sport levels loud but with an authentic V8 rumble and the active settings really impact the volume, so it makes the need for a loud exhaust not necessary. If you ever want to go louder headers, centre resonator delete will get you louder.

I can't comment on driving dynamics but based on the direct injection and higher compression alone I suspect this car will feel a lot more responsive and not as lazy as the outgoing V8 and more willing to rev. Then of course if so equipped mag ride should make the handling pretty damn good stock and again with flexibility on damping depending on your mood.

It was exactly like that for me when I test drove the 2016. Before we'd left the dealer I'd already told the salesman he had a sale for sure.
Now I'm just hanging around for my 2018 to arrive at the end of March. I'm so fucking excited that every prick is sick of listening to me go on.

I’m America at the moment and have seen the 18 everywhere. I think it looks brilliant. Looks so much better in the flesh. The droopy nose everyone bangs on about is non existent. Makes the 15-17 look dated

Ah, of course, I forgot about the Custom Pack. This time you can have it without the chrome window trim now, right? (must hunt out that thread!)

Correct there's with chrome trim and not, also CP with forged wheels.

4 variants

  • STD black wheels + black surround + CP bits (inc leather)
  • Chrome wheels + chrome surround + CP bits (inc leather)
  • Forged chrome wheels + chrome surround + cp bits (inc leather)
