Hi all,
I've ordered an 2018 Mustang and it seems that the lights were changed to LED's...

One thing what I really don't like and I think is bad on the 2015-17 are the lights (specially at night).

Is there any improvement on them on the 18 model?
Do you have some pic's at night?
Is it brighter and is the zone which it illuminate bigger?

Thanks for any replies!!! ::cheers:

EU laws....

Don't forget, the non-US S550s used a lower wattage HID so that it didn't require a self-leveling function or headlamp washer (those are required at a certain level of brightness), so that's the main reason the headlamps are not as good/bright as the US ones.

I'm not sure if the above EU law applies to LEDs......hopefully not, but only time will tell if the '18s use a lower output LED bulb....

:)

Wasn't aware of that. I assume us Canadians received the US spec hid.
Best lights I've had on a car by a long shot!

Im sure if they dimmed the headlights in your country for the 15-17 the 18 will be dim as well, for usa though we have hella good lights.

But the lights aren't made by Hella. Hella usually makes auxiliary lights.

All kidding aside, yes, the US HIDs are bright and put out a good pattern. Some of the best lights I've had on a car.

On the wife's 17, the HID's are quite good!!! however Ford, it seems does not know how to aim headlights, they were way to high! Our old expedition, high, and our 14 edge, the high beams shine in the trees!! thankfully they are all easy to adjust. down!

Watch this @0:05 @0.25 speed, looks like self leveling on the 2018 EU Mustang to me.

My wife's 2016 STI has headlights that are WAY better than my 2016 GT. They aren't horrible, but they could certainly be better.

well, thanks for your replies... this is a bad place for asking because.... yea... the US lights are stronger than our EU because of the headlamp washer that is required for a certain light brightness as Twin Turbo said...

But well I hope really the lights of the 2018 are better because they are really bad at night... at least the "medium" lights...

regarding this, you guys in US have really luck :D

Afaik LED headlights don't have the EU restriction to add washers when having more than 2500 Lumen. So the LED headlights should clearly be brighter than the current EU xenons.

But as most things on the facelift we really have to wait until the first customer production cars arrive, before we can confirm any feature for 100%
