I think even the die hard old school vette lovers will find it in their hearts to accept it eventually.
A fella actually got to see what it looked like and he said, even though its a mid engine, he could tell immediately it was a corvette, so in that regard, I don't think it will hurt the corvette faithful.

Most people who know me would be surprised if I bought a GM product, but an affordable V8 mid engine car has the potential to be way too good to pass up.
It's not hard to pass up on a gm. Have you seen the video is gm becoming China motors?

So did I .More so since I pulled the trigger on the 18GT /A10. It's going to keep me plenty occupied until I check back on this thread next year . Lol
LOL
And you know what?!?! Your '18 GT supercharged may be just as fast as the new GT500.
I "may" entertain a '18 GT supercharged from Terry Beefcake with his specials. But, I want to order my own car as I want a certain color/options and the A10. We'll see.

Enjoy man.

I think you can order what you want .The $39995 deal is using a a base 300A manual car so I assume the price difference would be just how much more your speced car costs .

Lethal is doing a 15 % off Whipple's today so I am tempted to pull the trigger .

I am close to beefcake and had considered taking advantage of their free install deal but that may be only good if you pay full price .

The amount 15% takes off is a little more than what my installer charges so it's kind of a wash ....Unless I can round up some local forum members to help me with the install:cheers:

It's done ! pulled the trigger on gen 5 whipple for my 2 day old 18GT/A10/PP1 .Looks like Lethal's 15 % off sale is one day only ....15 % off >> free install at full price .
Not going to bother with NA tune but will baseline with stock tune .

I will likely pony up for the optional power train warranty and see how far I can get with the Whipple tune .

I am trying to keep things as OEM like as possible but may be after a year I may end up with an E85 aftermarket tune /headers .

When I turn 50 in a couple of years(Deo Volunte) I plan to give up drag racing so I will likely be downsizing the number of cars /consolidating (sell/trade ) in to the one "ultimate" mustang ... or may just get rid of all of them and get one " all season" car .

I plan to have a lot of fun the next couple years !

I understand your frustration, however my vent was directed to the OP who came up with the bizzar position that nobody should have to pick up the phone and shop around to find a good deal. This was the guy a while back who disrespected people who serve and have served (in a post that was deleted by the mods).

Adam Smith wrote in the wealth of nations about a free market economy where value is perceived by the demand and supply. This "invisible hand" that he wrote of influences our economy and price you pay for that GT500. It's simple, if it's a great car, people are going to want it and will pay.

I'm not some punk ass kid asking mommy and daddy to buy me a GT500. I make my own money and I'm not going to have some socialist tell me how to spend it.
Well said!

I think I might have found my "all season car " if/when I "retire" from mustangs .
Twin turbo V8/600 hp/AWD -this is the car the GT 500 should have been.

One the comments summarized everything " If I had to pick one car to live with and could not have another .This would be it "...and under $100K.

A 911 turbo also fits the bill but twice the price (even used ) and less functional .

I just read the review, very impressive. I’m waiting to see the M8. Supposedly it’ll share more with the M8 gte car, and weigh at least a couple hundred lbs less.

There are a couple things for me, Ford is doing an absolute piss poor job marketing this car. Very very piss poor. They release the 90s flashback CGI video then are like "welp there you go, talk about it".

2. ADM's. I'm in CA and the GT350 ADM's were hilariously bad. This car is 100% going to cause another year and a half worth of bullcrap here.

I found myself looking over a black C7Z the other day and thinking about potentially going that route if this new GT500 is priced out of this world.

Yeah 700 horsepower plus gt500, like what? Who would want that? All unhappy buyers please send your car my way and i will dispose of it properly. In my garage. And on the street. Send an extra set of tires too. Ill start looking at some C7s too, in my rear view.

excitement has certainly died off here. last month, even before the CGI vid, the GT500 sub forum had, on average 20 to 40 viewers and got up to around 120 when the CGI was released. Today, there is high of 10 and a low of 1. There's little doubt it's lost much steam since even before the CGI. Would be nice to get a teaser pic once a month until the end of the year...just to keep interest.

Kind of hard to stay excited for another year with no car to see. The problem with waiting 5 years since the last GT500 is if it's not over the top with performance and blows the Camaro and Hellcats away it will be viewed as a failure, even if its a great car.

Yeah, the C7Z is a killer car. Killer looks and killer performance.
I don't know how many I've built on the Chevy website already. lol :D

Yeah,.......only if the new GT500 runs low to mid 10's like the C7Z does. ;)
