GT emblem removal from rear deck lid

Anyone know how to remove the rear GT emblem
From the deck lid? I'm about to order the matte black emblems and haven't seen any instructions for the removal of it, besides the whole deck lid.

The black panel itself can be removed, I think CJ has a video showing how to do it.

Just did mine, the video's way. Thanks. The only suggestion I thought of is to use an x-acto blade with an edge that is perpendicular to the handle of the knife (looks like a small scraper) to slice and dig out the melted plastic "mushroom heads" holding the pins of the chrome emblem on.

One curious question -- do a lot of people get the P51 reference? My license plate is P51-302; hardly anyone gets it.

P51 as in mustang(old fighter plane) and 302 cubic inch size of the the 5.0?

I'm sure there are a lot of ppl (especially younger folks) who don't get either reference. I get it, but I'm no spring chicken :(

Most people won't get the reference. I'm waiting on my custom license plate that reads REDNOSE, which is one of the Commemorative Air Force's P-51s.
