My 2016 Ecoboost engine is making a pinging noise under acceleration at low speeds, say 35-55mph, seems to have gotten a little worse lately, car has about 18,000 miles on it.

I have always used good 93 octane gas, minor mechanical mods are in my sig.

I think maybe the sparks plugs are off, either need to be regapped, cleaned or something.

Any suggestions on what is going on and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated, I am also going to get the performance tune in the spring so maybe I just wait until then to get it figured out?

Thanks

Are you getting any knock too? I would run the tank out of whatever gas is in it or put a bottle of heat in there and see if the pinging goes away. Then try a different gas station. If your more curious pull the plugs and check the gap. I suspect its gas related.
