It was available on demand while I was watching it - I just checked again, and now it doesn't show up? I guess keep a lookout on Youtube? Here's the season 2 trailer...
One of the better reviews I've seen. The cars were not tracked in this review. Spirited driving at 105 mph tops thru winding country back roads.
Although the ZR1 might have better power numbers and is less raw, the GT350R has soul and spirit (and is better looking) and that's why it won over both reviewers, unanimously.
It was a '16 R with Electronics Package and ZL1 with the A10. Most likely, both were private owner cars as the ZL1 had a tow hook installed. They drove the cars around the back roads, probably as much of us do; getting on them when the opportunity arises.
Both cars were considered fantastic, supercar territory - they thought 10 gears is too much, and would have preferred the 6M. They also criticized the R for choppy ride and handling over bumpy roads. At that point in the show, I thought the ZL1 had it, but in the end, the ZL1, though extremely capable, was a bit subdued in comparison to the frantic GT350 - they like frantic.
Obviously, I only touched on what they discussed. A standout to me was their choppy ride complaint, probably a result of the stiffer springs, et. al of the R package. I wonder if a GT350 would have quelled this objection.
Regardless of the "winner", it's an episode (and show) worth seeking out...
having owned both a track pack and an R, choppy is not the word I would use to describe the obvious stiffer ride. Having said that, in sport/track mode there is a significant dampening increase over a TP car on the same settings. I personally prefer the stiffer settings as I track the car and drive her hard, OFTEN! Additionally, I did not buy either car as a boulevard cruiser and expected a stiffer ride than a Miata.
On the other hand! I just watched the M3 vs QV. I WANT A QV IN MY LIFE!
