Velossatech big mouth ram air

Can anyone confirm, do these actually not fit \ work with EcoBoost PP model front ends?

Their website states does not work with EcoBoost grilles(assuming GT models only)...but it does work with MMD and Cervini grilles...but on an ecoboost then at that point?

Looks like they would fit then...odd.

I always thought the stock Ecoboost grill is closed off where the big mouth would go. Reading the second paragraph of the link on adam website :
"Because of it's plastic construction you have the ultimate anti-heat soaking intake system. Smooth transition, good flow, and affordable! If you have a GT, CDC, or MMD Grill, we also recommend picking up a VelossaTech BIG MOUTH Ram Air Inlet for the ultimate intake combination for the factory turbo, also available in the dropdown options. "

So you need one of those 3 grills

I have the MMD grille on an ecoboost pp. The triangle gap is there. THe way velossatech words it is poor, making it sound like the front frame\bumper of the ecoboost model differs from that of a GT. Where realistically it sounds like theyre just saying the stock ecoboost grilles ends have the wire mesh that would prevent the ram air from sitting there?

That would be my guess, there are plenty of people on here with the ram air ducts, so I dont think the bumper/frame is the issue. I agree its not the clearest

I'm actually running or will be here shortly a very similar setup to this package. Airaid tube(ebay $139)green performance filter($19 ebay)velossatech ram air scoop(great discount thanks D)behind an open stock gt grille, final piece will be a resonator delete plate(possibly custom made. Imo this is the only way to go for best overall performance

I have the cervini upper grill and it fits..

when ordering though you need to tell them which upper grill you have.

I e-mailed Adam and he stated the Big Mouth (BM) will not fit the stock grille. I just paid for a used BM and GT grille. When I receive them, I'll try to get the BM to fit with the stock grille first before swapping grilles.

I get that,. But it also states does NOT fit ecoboost but doesn't GT....I don't see a difference between those grills so I want to know what makes it not fit

Hey guys, the big mouth will fit the ecoboost platform, it fits any S550 including the V6, but it must have a GT or other fang type grille. The ecoboost grille doesnt have the fang and is a little deeper.


EDIT: I am sure if you wanted to make it fit with the EB grille you could with trimming of the big mouth or the grille, I dont know if there have been any drastic changes to the grille since the 2015 came out but last I tried fitting one, it didnt fit the EB grille for model year 2015. Again I cant speak for 2016-2018 ecoboosts, Ford tends to make random small changes in the car everywhere which may affect fitment or may help fitment.

The bottom line's that the Big Mouth fits 2015 EB stock grille without modifications.

Three pictures below shows the Big Mouth sitting on a GT upper grille (one that I ended up not using) to give you an idea how it's supposed to fit.





This is how the Big Mouth looks installed behind an EB grille. I already had the holes drilled out (need to go back and clean them up) last year.



The Big Mouth fits nice and tight on the outer edge of the grille, which keeps it in place. It lines up perfectly and you can easily see to the end of the stock airbox.



However, there is a gap on the inner side. I personally don't think it's a big deal as you won't get an airtight seal with the GT grille either.

You can't really tell that it's installed, which's great for someone like me that's going for the stealth. If you want to show it off, you'll need to either completely cut out the honeycomb portion or use a GT style grille with an opened up fang.
