Hi all,

My DD is a plug-in hybrid with an eCVT, so it doesn't exactly shift like a torque converter vehicle, as such, I'm having a hard time figuring out if this is normal or not. It seems the shift time from R to D in the A10 is excessively long, at least 1 second. Anyone experience this, especially when the transmission is cold?

Yes, mine does the same. Nature of the A10? Perhaps. If its an issue in the long run, warranty will take care of it.

Yeah this trans does stuff that is way outside what I am used to, mine does that same from R to D...

Also the paddle shift from 1 to 2 takes for ever - but the rest are damn near as fast as some of the DCTs out there....

I am loving it though - WAY WAY better than the 6 in my '15

P>R and R>D does take some time to accomplish. Nature of the beast. 2017 MDX is fairly pokey shifting as well.

This was the same on the A6 as well. Normal for these transmissions.

My 2015 A6 S550 GT had the same issue, and it has carried thru to my 2018 S550 GT. Long transition from R to D. The A10 on my F150 doesn't have this issue.

The delay is programmable, can be adjusted with a tune.

Interesting thread, so here’s two questions:

1) Can it be corrected by Ford?
2) Can it be modified via Forscan?

I wonder why they would program it to shift so.. lazily.

I got the problem from Park to Drive along with the R to D, and it does it whether it's cold or warmed up. Damn thing is odd, but now I see I'm not the only one.

That's my problem also. I'm used to my other cars. I guess we'll both have to practice our patience. :D

I have to ask, cuz I'm curious...are you racing other cars to see who can get from park to drive the fastest? Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

It just takes longer than any vehicle I have ever driven in the last 30 years so its very noticeable. When you are use to putting it in to gear and go and now you have to wait before getting on the gas its just a little odd. Its not a real big deal, just have to get use to it I guess.
