APEX 18” & 19” EC-7 Mustang Wheel Group Buy

The Group Buy is now officially closed. Thank you to all that participated making this a success.

18” and 19” EC-7 Mustang wheels are available in both staggered and rotatable square fitments, providing S197 and S550 enthusiasts alike with lightweight, flow formed solutions to meet their specific needs. Whether you are enjoying your machine on the street or as a weekend track warrior, we’ve got you covered. Go wider, go lighter!

The EC-7 design offers industry leading brake clearance, effectively clearing all factory brakes and aftermarket big brake kits that we have come across. Do not be forced into running larger diameter wheels than desired due to inferior brake clearance. The 18” EC-7’s clear the S197 14” & 15” GT500 Brembo brakes and S550 Performance Package brakes, in addition to many aftermarket big brake kits like the StopTech 6 piston 380mm kit. The 19” EC-7’s provide superior clearance to the massive GT350 Brembo BBK than most wheels on the market today - including the OEM GT350 and uber expensive GT350 R carbon fiber wheels.

This Group Buy conveniently offers wheel and tire packages with free mounting and balancing, as well as accessories like TPMS sensors and color matched metal valve stems.

What’s different about our Group Buy?
Joining Group Buy deals via forums is traditionally a very manual process. Since our deals have grown so large over time, we are working with a new tool to organize these deals in a single, well organized location. This deal is entirely managed on GangUp.com where you can pay, follow, and discuss the deal’s status.

How do I participate?
Visit the official Deal Dashboard on GangUp.com. From there, you can show your interest by joining our feeler list. You’ll receive an email reminder when the deal officially opens. When the deal is live and accepting payments, you can complete checkout and pay for your order from the same page. All product details, member participants, and discussions can be found on that Dashboard.

What if I have some questions?
No problem! You can simply contact us by clicking “Message Vendor” on the deal page or via [email protected]. Please avoid sending us Private Messages as they do not automatically go into our ticketing system and will experience a delay for responses.

Thanks Ryan! The only real question I had was what you recommended spacer wise on the GT PP front fitment. I'm mostly concerned with strut clearance since I think fender will be fine at 11". I'm considering going with BC coilovers for now and wondered if you knew how the fitment was. I'm thinking maybe a 25mm spacer? I saw a thread where another gentleman had a very close fit with a 20mm on the stock PP shocks. For the rear it seems like it would be fine without a spacer, but I'm basing that on that willtheyfit site :D. Open to suggestions.

Goal is to run as sticky of a square setup as I can on those 18x11s.

You are right on the money. The 18x11" ET52 is our popular rotatable square fitment for enthusiasts looking to maximize grip/tire on all four corners of the car. Typically enthusiasts will install 295/35-18 or 305/35-18 tires (305 being most popular), while some extreme race cars have gone as wide as 315! This is an aggressive fitment which does require some supporting modifications to fit and operate properly, however all of these modifications are beneficial to the driver, especially if the car is going to be used on track.

Adjustable Camber Plates
We offer Ground Control adjustable camber plates for the S550, and would highly suggest them regardless of what wheel and size you go with, as camber plates are one of the best chassis setup modifications for the dollar. This is a requirement for enthusiasts looking to stuff 11" wheels under the front fenders, and the negative camber will help reduce the cost of tires overtime through more consistent wear patterns. Camber specifications required will ultimately depend on which tire size and brand you use (as not all are created equal), and your vehicle ride height.

Spacers & Extended Wheel Studs
When outfitting 11" wheels with the same offset on all four corners of the car, the front will require spacers for proper strut clearance. We could have manufactured lower offsets for the front specifically to avoid the use of spacers, however this would negate the ability to rotate wheels and tires and that is a huge benefit that track oriented enthusiasts value. The spacer thickness required up front ultimately depends on which tire brand and size is installed, as well as the suspension type (again, not all are created equal). Typically enthusiasts running 305/35-18 tires require 25mm spacers up front. If a car is equipped with offset struts, like the Cortex JRi or MCS coilovers, this gives us more room to work with and we are able to reduce the spacer thickness to around 15mm.

Whenever spacers are installed on a vehicle, extended wheel hardware is required to ensure proper installation and operation. We recommend the extended ARP wheel studs as a very reputable brand, and these can be found from many online retailers. Most go with the 3.5" length.

Parts List

(x4) Tires of your choice
(x10) ARP M14x1.5 Extended Wheel Studs
(x2) 25mm Mustang Wheels Spacers
(x1) Ground Control S550 Mustang adjustable camber plates

Please let me know if you have any further questions

Thanks! Definitely going to get camber plates as part of the coil over install. For the spacers it sounds like you recommend slip-on hubcentric spacers with the extended wheel studs over the bolt-on hubcentric that have a second set of studs. Is that because of wheel compatibility?

You recommend 60 degree tapered seat lugs for these right?

18x12 or 18x12.5 possible?
Think there are enough FI Mustangs tracking now it would be worth a feeler with no obligation to move it forward?

Ryan, thanks for supporting the Mustang track community.

You are correct on all accounts. To mirror our BMW product spectrum and further support the Mustang community, we plan to offer Mustang wheel hardware (spacers, stud kits etc.) in the near future.

Customers are currently using ARP extended wheels studs. Here is an image of 25mm spacers installed with ARP studs on a GT350 for reference.

It's a tough call. We've got some interest flowing in for 19x11.5" ET56 from GT350 owners whom want to maintain a staggered fitment (as apposed to our 19x11" square fitment option that is available) to support 315/325 rear tires, and this could be an effective solution for GT customers with big power. We would likely need the combined interest from GT350 and GT customers to bring a project like this to fruition, so I am thinking it would have to be in a 19" diameter (18's do not clear the GT350 front brakes).

I'll look further into this, and will report back to the community:thumbsup:

I can see a 19x11.5 making sense first for the GT350.

There is certainly risk of only a dozen pairs of 18x12 as much as Id want a pair.

I am looking to run 335-345 in rear staggered so no intention to rotate.
I typically track squared with the car detuned and am still hard on the rears w only 305. Heavy cars.

The GT benefit from the lower roll center achievable by running 18” instead of 19”. Heard there *might* possibly be a future two piece rotor that fits the GT PP Brembo 6 pots, thus extending the GT Brembo performance for track use.

Thanks again
