"Benchmarking" is one thing, I recall when the '11 5.0 GT came out and it "bested" an M3 at the track, per at least 1 magazine. Doesn't mean the '11 GT was an overall better machine.

I have not driven a GT3, but a friend had an '07 911 S4 that I got to babysit for a few months. I recall commenting to my wife, after driving I several hundred miles, that I could see why people spend $100K+ on a 911......there are times when the "get what you pay for" adage applies...

A beefed up DCT from the GT and no MT.
While this would be interesting, I would bet my R (seriously) against it happening. The DCT's that can handle 550+ tq like the GT are crazy expensive, to the point that they cost as much as our entire GT350's LOL

I see the 10spd making an entrance for certain to make it competitive in the 1/4 mile and more track-poised, but I don't see them ditching the manual either and expect a TR6060 offering for sure.

I'll take that bet.

I'll take that bet.
I really hope you're just referring to him betting against the DCT. No manual trans is a deal breaker. And I've been planning the purchase of this car since 2013!

Posts like this make me want a "thumbs down" option.
Sorry to tell you that. Last i heard it COULD get a manual.
Ill be getting the auto, but would be nice if the manual only crowd got what they wanted.

GT3 is NA and lightweight

If this GT500 is supercharged you can kiss that competing in the summer heat good bye.

There has been magazine review of the ZL1 with 11 coolers tracking all day. But now that they are in customer hands, well...

Crazy high oil and transmission temps:
I currently track a 2015 Whippled GT Auto with a 4.0 pulley and mods for cooling.
Fly into Austin and come sit in for a 30 minute session at the track at 100F at noon.
Open invite to anyone w Ford too. Just PM.

Ford has done an amazing job, and I doubt any Ford engineer would ever be satisfied to stop improving. :ford:
