I’m interested in getting a GT350 but what do you guys think the chances are that they’ll announce performance upgrades for the 2019 model year? Or do you think this is the final form of the GT350 and it will be the same until they cease production? Just don’t want to have a repeat of how I bought a 17 GT, then a few months later they announce how much better the 18 will be.

You'll run into this issue whenever you buy any car. If you wait till the 2019 model, then you could wonder if the 2020 will have upgrades or a re-design worth waiting for, and maybe 2021, etc . ... In the meantime, you're not enjoying your new car. Just go for it!

Most of the time u are correct, but MY16 tech package buyers would have been better off waiting till 17, and gotten the coolers!

Thanks for the input guys. It may be worth it to start taking a peek into some of the leftover 2017’s as well then. So 2016, they lacked coolers that the 2017 had?

Only if the buyer planned to track the car. I had my choice between a base '17 GT350 and a '16 with the tech (aka convenience) package, and I bought the '16, with full knowledge of the cooler limp-mode track issue. Very happy with the decision, never had a hint of any issues, and saved about $4K. But again, the closest I get to track driving is I-684 at 2am.

As far as I know, the '17s and '18s are identical, save that the base price seems $1000 more, and there are different color selections available.

I love my '17. :)

There will not be a GT350 in 2019. Get 'em while you can. Sounds like they'll slap a supercharger on our Voodoo engines, drop the flat plan crank, and call it a GT500. Good, bad, I dunno. I just know I don't want a supercharged car for track (road course) use and have to worry about the thing overheating.

Just to be clear are you suggesting that the 2018 GT350 will continue in it's present form for another 2 MY's?

Will Ford keep the exactly the same body style for the next 2 MY's and will they continue to utilize the current engine design of the FPC for these next two years as well?

Hard to imagine the same body style for 6 years in a row but then again I can't see a revised body style for just 2 MY's either.

Please tell us that the industry info is saying about the upcoming body styles and engines for the 2019/2020 GT350?

Thanks!

;)

Really? Can you be more specific? There still seems to be doubt about GT350 production even for 2019, never mind 2020.

I can't believe they would ever do this. They would cannibalize their own sales. One Shelby per MY. The above makes no business sense.

I noticed they changed the key fob and door key style for 2018.
