So, I originally posted this in the General Forum so the entire S550 population could benefit from an actual ownership review (instead of reading piss poor auto mag reviews, or disillusioned posts on other forums from so called Auto Journalists or Auto Enthusiasts who don’t know what the hell they're talking about when it comes to the 2018 S550).

If you don’t venture out past certain sub-forums on this site then most likely may not have seen my post...

I now have a 2018 EB Premium w/PP courtesy of Ford (my 2016 EB Premium w/PP has been “reacquired”).

Here’s the thread of my new 2018 EB w/ meaty info and a couple of pics:

Enjoy!

More info for those looking to get into a 2018 EB w/PP:

The 2018 EB w/PP now comes with a factory installed over the engine black strut tower bar and ties both tops of the strut towers together. This is the same part available via Ford Performance website.

This piece was not part of the 2015-2017 PP options and most added this or other aftermarket strut bar to their EB’s.

Also to note:

1) Radiator Support cover (all 2018’s):
If anyone had purchased the Ford Performance black radiator cover for their 2015-2017, that part will not work on the 2018’s (same would be true for any other aftermarket radiator support covers). The 2018 front rad support, headlight areas, inner bracing structure and existing rad cover mounting points are totally different from the 2015-2017’s.

2) Aftermarket CAI (specific to the EcoBoost):
I inquired about the Injen aftermarket closed CAI system (Item 389839 MPN# EVO9200) - the 2015-2017 part will not fit the 2018’s according to American Muscle support staff. I cannot confirm and do not know if this would apply to other aftermarket CAI’s that were specific to 2015-2017 EB. Looking at the rad structure and the immediate surrounding areas of the factory air box, it appears that the inner fender structure slopes downward more so than the 2015-2017’s - that’s my only guess as to why AM says the 2015-2017 Injen CAI will not work. Possible hood clearance isssues???

No picks of this new brace? My 15 EBM PP came with a cowl beach that’s black that can join with th form perfomance struts braces.

Here’s some more notes:

1) The 2018 EB upper grille design has now been opened up on the driver side where the cold air intake opening is located behind the grille. On the prior 2015-2017 EB’s, the grille was not open to the air intake in this very area.

I just noticed this today (had not really been looking for it previously and the sun was hitting that area of the grille when I noticed the open honeycombs).

2) Track or Drag mode is now a selection instantly available from the center console driving “Mode” toggle switch.
