I 1st noticed this issue about a year ago when I saw a couple drops of water on the passenger side kick panel. I didn't think much about it at the time but within a month of that I spotted actual drips falling onto the kick panel while driving in the rain.

At 1st it wasn't real bad, but has gotten worse over time to the point that I now keep a towel laying against the panel to catch the water as it leaks in. Just last week, after raining for a couple of hours the towel I had on the floor was so wet I had to ring it out.

I've looked over the weatherstrip in the door jamb and can't see anything that's obviously out of place or damaged to explain the leak, but as best as I can tell it looks like the water is somehow getting in the top front corner of the door, then seeping into the seam on the side panel of the dash where it runs down to the lower dash trim and drips onto the kick panel.

So has anyone else experienced a leak like this? Does anybody have a knowledgeable suggestion to fix it? I'm probably going to take the car to a body shop to have the door to body seam gaps adjusted since those gaps are really uneven around the door (no accidents, it's just bad fit/finish from the factory), and double check the seals but since the car is out of warranty all shop time comes out of my wallet so anything I can try on my own might save me some bucks.

it could be the welds on the roof of the car, had this on both sides of my car, it looked like water was running down the inside of the door and my floor would get soaked

Well that's disturbing, and something I haven't considered but I'll mention it to the shop if nothing else stands out as the likely cause.

Thanks, I'll look for that once I get home, for some reason the search function of this forum doesn't work on my phone

Ok, I looked over the roof to A-pillar seam very closely and there is in fact a very small crack in the paint between the leading edge of the roof and the windshield right at the corner of the windshield. It's only 1/4 inch long and literally as thin as a hair so it's hard to believe that so much water can leak in there, but if that's the source it seems like it can be fixed with a couple dabs of touch-up paint.

Just a quick update, took my car to a body shop on Friday, their leak specialist found the problem quickly and confirmed it was in fact the seam at the top of the windshield. He applied some sealer and hopefully that will cure the leak.

As far as the door alignment, I pointed out where it stuck out about 1/8" - 1/4" at the bottom rear corner and was set in about 1/8" at the top forward corner. Their opinion was to not mess with it, so I guess I'm just going to live with it.
