Had a BLAST at the Mod Nationals! Got close to my best E.T. this weekend, I did better my 60' with a 1.47, on a stock posi!
Lund, BMR, Circle D and many more help make the power and plant it to the ground!
Check out this killer pic Baker JD Photography took, by far the best pic I have seen of my car leaving!
And 2 of my friends won in True Street, 11 & 10 second brackets.
Mark you calendars for next years Mod Nationals!
Here's a video from under my car.

Nice job RB!!!:hail: You made the other guy give up after the 1/8th lol:lol:
Are you running solid bushings in the diff only, or throughout the rear subframe assembly? That diff housing is rock solid. No wasted energy trying to lift the pinion at all!!

Hi GT BOB! I'm running BMR solid throughout, plus a little idea I came up with. it is based off of the "Old School" pinion support. Here are some pics, they may not be in order, but I think you will get the idea.

So it's not actually attached to the pinion, just solid stops it from climbing up? That's pretty neat idea RB.

Curious, is that still necessary with an IRS ?

I know with a full diff with axles tubes there is a twisting force that could impact the pinion angle because the way a traditional differential is mounted to a car, but is that still the case with an IRS setup?

Genuine curiosity here.

Either way, nice fab work & thinking outside the box.

Yes the ring and pinion still want to climb under power, but the irs diff is "fixed" in place, but the compliance of the bushings still allows movement. This floating mount RB made stops the up movement but is not completely fully locked solid. Really cool stuff.

RB does it make any rattling racket when the pinion moves under normal driving?

So its more about the tolerances in the bushings that remains to be removed.

I agree, cool stuff RB.

With all the other solid bushings, I didn't notice any more noise with this addition.

There have been S550's in the past that rip the front mounting ears off the housing, the pinion support takes some of that stress off of those ears. The real test will be when I start using the transbrake!

RBS550 is at work and no computer access but I think his mileage is about 25K the 5.0 and the trans has held up great for all the highway miles and loads of 1\4 mile passes at 8 K plus RPMS:thumbsup:
