The manual is a bit slower.

I have a v6 and ive seen people getting in the 5's with it but the fastest I got was 6.0. I really want to test it out on an auto.

They will get a bit slower over time as the intake valves start to coke up.

I bet it has a lot to do with heatsoak and the small intercoolers as well. All leading to super inconsistent runs. would it really have been that hard for Ford to upsize it just a little bit.

Looks like they are only getting slower when Motor trend drivers.:doh:MT is really trying to lift Camaro sales:rant:Good luck with that!

Glad I got my oil catch can installed

Terry :kickrock:
Your oil catch can isn"t going to do jack shit as far as your valves getting full of carbon, that is a result of the DIRECT INJECTON on the Eco Boost engine in your Mustang, the only cure, is a tear down and clean the valves & heads up,after warranty is up BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The article notes the fact the fastest one was on a "pre-production tune" and may have had a different calibration.

This particular fact is funny, because my last vehicle, a 2012 Kia Sportage SX AWD, showed a 6.1s 0-60 and a 14.7s 1/4 mile in the earlier reviews. A few months later, all the reviews were showing a 7.5s 0-60 and 15.7s 1/4 mile, on average. My own data logging showed those numbers to be pretty accurate, and the biggest problem I saw was the slow power build in first gear - a full 2 seconds before you see full boost. 0-20mph took a full 2.0 seconds, but to get from 20-40mph took 2 seconds as well. I figured it was a transmission protection feature during launch. Funny enough, the 5-60MPH numbers were pretty much the same between all reviews, but you'd lose out a full second if starting from zero. In the later reviews, the 5-60 was about 7.1 seconds, yet the 0-60 was 7.5s. I've looked at tons of reviews over the years, the 5-60mph rolling start is almost always marginally slower than the 0-60.

That being said, who's to say that perhaps the boost algorithm (ramp up to full boost) hasn't maybe been modified to protect the transmission on the EB Mustang, or something of the likes? Kia clearly sent out either a deliberately higher-tuned car to the initial reviews, or decided mid-model year for the 2011 model that perhaps they need to detune the launch algorithm to protect the transmission from hard launches.

Also, you can scrap a brake-torque launch from the situation. Try to gas and brake to build boost before launching in the Sportage only resulted in a noticeable loss of power to the butt dyno, plus logging showed boost maintaining only 10psi in first gear, compared to peaking to 17psi in first gear if not brake torqued, repeatedly.

I have done total of three runs and I managed to get 6.0sec (this is 0-100KM/H or 0-62MP/H) with 94 Octane all nannies off, non-PP MT with AS tires... And I am certainly not a professional driver...

What they describe is what I felt the only time I ran regular...

I'll be curious to see what your valves look like at 20K.
