The Australian manual I downloaded back in February has a similar section. However, the hard-copy that came with my car has the attached section - which could put insurance coverage in doubt for any Australian Mustang owner towing a trailer that is involved in an accident.

Most aussie manuals state the towing limits for the mustang but my engineer has been in contact with Ford Australia and they have said that they do not recognise any towing limits for the mustang and not to refer to the manual. An engineering certificate may help but any insurance company can easily get out of paying any claim based on the above.

Slightly off the topic of towing but I think the original question was in regards to mounting a bike rack. I saw a white Mustang last week with some kind of bike rack mounted to the rear section so the bike was sitting over the rear window, up right and inline with the direction of travel. Sort of what you'd expect of a roof mounted one but over the window.

It was turning off just as it came into view so only saw it for a few seconds so no idea of brand etc but unless it was a custom job there must be something out there available. Thought it might be worth mentioning.
