Sync 3 update

Hey guys,

Sync 3 3.0 update is out on ford website but I cant download it to USB or from the car. I just get spinning wheels. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Same here, Been trying for awhile now. Spoke to Ford representative. Never got back to me about it.

This may help (apologies if you've done all this already):
Login to Ford owner site
Go to sync version and get download link emailed
Get email link and download files to computer
Insert formatted USB (on Windows pc, my Mac did not work)
Copy files from within the folder to USB - not the folder, it won't run the autoexec if it's in the folder.
Insert into Sync, and it "should" start "updating software" after a while.

Thanks Aubrey. Unfortunately for me the 'request download' button is not there. I can only click on 'update new version' to download but get the spinning wheel. Never mind, maybe ford will fix it in the future.

Try using Ford India, https://www.india.ford.com/

It worked for me when I had that issue

What changes does the update version have and does it update the maps?

I dont think it update the maps. I think map updates has to be uploaded by the dealer. I was having issues with Android Auto. Sometimes it does not initialize. Hopefully this update will fix it.

Ive found it much better with the update.

Also close all apps before plugging it in helps a lot too

Yeah, the Ford AU website is very hit and miss. I've made several complaints to Ford directly about it.

The wind needs to be in the right direction, with the temperature between a certain band, with a specific of the week, day of the month.. finally you have pot luck whether they have stuck their 50c into the power meter that day.

Their IT here is managed by a bunch of monkeys and possums.

I have a Google Drive link of the latest 3.0 update if anyone wants it - let me know and I'll post it.

But its not a maps update.

Anyone got a download link for Sync 2 (assuming there is one, of course)? According to Ford my VIN is invalid!
Checked it against my tax invoice, on my car, on my rego notice...

I'm finding the Sync 3 V3.0 update less stable than than previous version.

Sometimes get an error 'Voice control not available yet' error trying to use voice control which lasted until the car was restarted.

Couple of times it doesn't finish connecting to my phone, again needing a restart to correct.

Sometimes you get a better response when you post to Ford using Facebook but not everyone uses that.
