Aftermarket Headunit

Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question... But is it at all possible to install an aftermarket head unit into a custom box in the trunk and from there connect new speaker wiring? and then is there a way to connect the Factory controls to it?

No need for all that. You cannuse something like this - to take the audio processing away from the stock system.

I'm not an expert, but that's one option. I'm sure there are others.

OEMRadio has actually provided me with the file I need to remove the factory processing so if that's all that this machine does I would rather just do that.
