The 2015-17 Mustang V6 wasn't available with the Performance Package, but is a stock version still fun at the track?
If so, how will it hold up if taken there 3-4 times a year?

Hey that car looks familiar! :D

Never really got my car to a proper track but with a few select mods it can be made into an extremely fun and light car! Weighting 100-200 less than the GT has its advantages and the linear power curve of the V6 I found to be more enjoyable then the notchy power curve of the EB.

Which select modifications?
What about if left stock?

Left stock the car will feel a bit soft for track events. Suspension upgrades in the form of stiffer springs/dampers and thicker sway bars will go a long way. I would also highly suggest a tune. A 93 octane tune really wakes the car up.

If you're not going to mod the car heavily, at least do good tires.

Tires are everything. And synthetic fluids in the engine, trans, rear-end, brakes, etc.

Sidetrack (a little)

For seldom track use & stock for stock, would you prefer a 2014 V6 with the Performance Package or 2015 V6 without it?

It's not just the IRS but the fact that it's a new generation on an upgraded chassis. Stock suspension on a 15-17 much better then stock suspension of 11-14. I can't give you numbers because I don't have them but the suspension is far improved even over an 11-14 PP.

Here is my Procharged V6 at the track. IMO you should get a separate set of track wheels/tires/brakes if you want to go 4 times a year.

Assuming by track you mean road course - just bleed the brakes before the event is my advice. Don't spend a bunch of money before you even get to the track. Try the car out and decide whether mods are needed or not.

You don't have to have ultimate stiff suspension and sticky tires in order to have fun at the road course.

If you meant dragstrip, then nothing at all is needed.

Yes, I'm referring to road course. :)

Sounds like you may be a complete novice at HPDE's? If so, put fresh brake fluid in it and enjoy the ride. THEN, if you really get hooked, look into tire, suspension, and brake upgrades.
