Wondered what you guys thought of this.

Just been sent the service plan for the Mustang to cover the first 3 services over 3 years or 30,000 miles etc.

£826.80 incl VAT

Supposed to be up to around £80 cheaper than paying separately and it's at today's prices.

Or.... go to an independent that might actually care about customer service....?

You might find that two of the services are basically just an oil change, if that! We foolishly bought one of these for a BMW and on the third service, we found out that they didn't even open the bonnet. All the major bits seemed to come at once at the fourth service, which was naturally out of the plan. In retrospect, giving a garage all your money in advance seems crazy, but the slick sales 'specialist' they wheeled out at the time made it all seem so sensible!

Main dealers so seem to inflate their service prices for new cars, but you'll notice that prices magically drop for cars 3/4 years old.

"To retain warranty you have to get ford to do the first three services. The plan costs £611 for three years and covers all services."
This is what Zerocool told me when he picked up his EB.

Took one on the wife's Qashqai as it was £299 for three years, which is a no-brainer but i'm disinclined to hand over £800 up front. Other things I could be spending that on, like an exhaust. So big thanks for finding me some extra cash :thumbsup:

This isn't right. It has to be done by a VAT registered garage using ford parts. I believe that's all that's needed to retain warranty :)

that is a shocking price?!

I've paid £500 for 5 year service plan on an Range Rover Evoque.

£900 for 3 years seems very steep!

That's more expensive than for a BMW. The prices below are for 5 years and £50k miles and include VAT!
