Back on topic .....Once you drive a 13/14 GT500 with the performance, track pack and 295 MSSP tires everything else is slow This is also the last car Corroll Shelby signed off on and Ford built in his honor. Low miles one owner cars still bring $47K. The 610 torque @ 2000 rpms is just amazing. The car was engineered to go 200 mph. If you are going to buy a GT buy used.
Has anyone done 200mph in a Trinity 500 outside of what Ford claims?
Arguably the only thing the Trinity 500 does well is straight line speed, and if that was what I was shopping for, it's the HC Chally with the A8.

Hi Everyone,

I had planned on ordering my new 2017 GT Convertible this Feb. I want a manual, with performance package and some other goodies. This will be my "for fun" car and not my daily driver. My plan is to turbo or supercharge it and add several other for fun mods.

In the course of reading up on these great machines, I am seeing that I can get an almost NO mile like new 2013 or 2014 GT500 Convertible for about the same money that I can order a new Mustang GT for. It is becoming tempting to buy the Shelby with 662hp and get everything I want already done. I know it will not have the IRS, but I am not so sure that matters.

Anyone else consider this before buying a new GT? The idea of a BRAND NEW GT is appealing, also, there is some concern with buying a used 662hp car no matter how low the mileage.

I appreciate your thoughts....
Look @ the YouTube videos and then decide. Depending on the in service warranty date you are covered regarding the power train. There is really no way you could engineer the mustang GT to match the 13/14 GT 500 without spending a ton of Money.

You are misinformed about what the 13/14 500 can do besides top speed. Look @ the last YouTube I posted. Then come back on and back up your statement.
Most people are not aware of the amount of engineering that went into the SVT performance pack and the track pack.

manual and a vert?! Go with the 500, the mt82 is garbage on majority of the s550s. The gt500 is also quicker out of the factory.

You could also go auto/5.0 pick up vmp SC, and gap every stockish gt500 out there.

GREAT videos - ESPECIALLY that last one - THANKS! I got a 2013 GT500 just less than a month ago. It was still new, never sold so the full 3yr 36k mile warranty started the day I picked it up. I am really looking forward to some warmer weather!

Congrats on a super deal on a 4 year old new car. Just beautiful in that color. Those Recaros are some of the best seats I've ever sat in. They hold you in place in the corners for sure but not super tight. Be careful with those Goodyear tires they will crack in freezing weather. I could not hook up in second gear and found myself sideways a few times @ 50+mph. It is a little scary the first time it happens because you are not expecting it. Even with only 3000 miles a got a set of Michelin super sports pilot tires size 295 rear and 275 front. Now no more sideways in second gear @ WOT. I got the Ferrari type tire that has the wider tire patch. The Porsche type is not as wide. Both 295 size. Have fun but respect the power of this car on the streets. Had to remove the bottom part of the front spoiler I could not get up my son's driveway. Plus I'm not tracking her. See the rear tires they are just a bit wider but not too much. Looks better IMO.

Since my '15 has been totaled. I put a deposit down on an '18 GTPP and is #1 in the order line.

After reading up on the '14 GT500 the last few days and seeing a ton of low mileage, un-molested cars from 2500 miles and below, I've decided a '14 GT500 will be replacing my '15 GTPP.

I will be on the prowl for my car over the next 2-3 months. Cannot wait to get one of these in my garage. The amount of engineering that went into these cars is mind blowing. I'll do a few suspension upgrades and potential brake changes based on the feedback I've read online. I will have to order me up a set of some CCW hybrid 2 piece wheels, too. A pulley change, CAI, mono blade TB and Rob Shoemaker tune will complete my upgrades.

Thanks for sharing all those videos, 5.0 435!!

There are a lot of clean low mile 13 and 14 cars out there. I did a lot of research as well, you are right the '13 and '14 GT500's really do pack a lot of great things into a darn fast package and with just a few relatively inexpensive mods you can be well over 800 horse, that is pretty impressive..

Man if I could find a '13-14 GT500 with a glass roof I'd consider it, will always want one of those.

The ONLY way I'd go back to a GT500 from my '15 is if it were a '13-'14.....and even then it would be tough to go back to a stick axle.

Not to mention the much more low-rent interior.

I think the closest anyone has come to hitting the 200mph mark Ford claims was one of the magazines..(MT or C&D) who got it up to 198MPH in stock trim.

Still stinking damn fast.

In this video, they got it to 196 in the Arizona heat and an elevation over 2000. Randy P. Says it is a 200mph car in better conditions.
