Plastidip is good for short term. You also have the cost of tape and your time. I did the plastidip route but didn't want to do it every month

I have had parts plastidipped for years on car and never had to redo it. Don't know why you think it is a short term product. Tape and time? Tape is $2.50 a role and plastidipped can be be applied with numerous coats in about the same time it takes most people to figure out how to get the badges off. Total investment is sub $10 and maybe 1-1.5 hours of time.

I do like the look of these painted badges better but my opinion is the price is kinda steep. I would be in the market if they were around the $80-$85 shipped for the GT package.

[emoji106] thanks for the write up! They do look great installed. The front one I can handle and the sides no problem. I am not excited about the deck lid though. I watched the install for the Ford Racing panel and would just be worried about breaking any of the clip tabs of the panel. Then it all of sudden wouldn't be worth it if any broke haha. I may just do the pony for now. As I still have the chrome lugs on my PP wheels so the 5.0 don't look too bad on the side right now. And still have polished tipped exhaust. But when the Corsa black tips goes on and I get the chrome lugs gone the rest will need to be changed!

Yeah rear deck panel had me worried, that's why I started there first. Seeing all the videos helped, its doable.

Finally done, took breaks because humidity is pretty high and I was pouring sweat. I have all together about hour and half into it. Part I was most worried about was the rear deck GT but wasn't bad. Front was easier then I could imagine. The two side 5.0s totally sucked. They were the worst part of the job. I have never taken badges off anything so there was a learning curve. First side took three times as long as second side.
My only concern is the rear GT didn't seem to stick on edges as well as I would have wished, there is a contour to the rear deck lid and emblem seems to want to pull straight, so it's trying to pull up on edges. If I'd done more dry fitting would have try to pre bow badge before sticking.
Other then that I am very happy with the matte black.

Can you post up a pic of the front installed showing the whole front? I think I'm going to start with that. Did you remove the radiator cover to access behind it to pull off the tabs?

Yeah take radiator cover off, kind of a tight squeeze but enough room. Break tabs then light pry on pony and it will pop off.

These emblems are they your product or are they the same as UPR emblems? Any plans to make gloss black 5.0 emblems with the tabs?

Disappointing!

I bought a matte set last week. This weekend I installed it on the car.
In principle everything looked nice, but when I used a rug and some alcohol to remove the grease and fingerprints from the decklid, the paint from the GT emblem came off!!

Alcohol should never strip paint off. I have the gloss ones from MAK and I used alcohol wipes that are provided and had no issues. I'm willing to bet when they see this the'll hook you up with a replacement.

And plastidip is for lazy folk ;)
