Transmission Fluid

Hey all

After reading a lot of posts on transmission fluid I thought I would create this poll so I understand what people are happy with, what they are unhappy with and ultimately this will help guide my purchase.

If you are unhappy, could you please post below why you are unhappy with it.

Royal Purple Drank here, lot less notchy especially in cold. Butter smooth when warmed up

I've been using Amsoil for 15k miles. Felt noticeably better than factory immediately and still feels good.

Thank you for everyone's responses so far, my car is in the workshop today. I wonder what they will do (other than burnouts)

Did royal purple in my car when I changed all the fluids right after 1000 mile break in. Noticed the difference in the transmission immediately. Still is a little notchy when really cold around freezing temps but is smooth as butter after some heat is built up. I might try Amsoil next if I feel like changing it.

I switched to Amsoil and it helped some. I'm using the stock shifter though, so sometimes it's hard to feel the improvement. But for the price, totally worth the change.

Anybody know how much Royal purple syncromax for the mt82?

Just wanted to know how much was needed for a swap and also it's just regular syncromax nothing else special?

You should try some olive oil, that stuff is amazing.

Still waiting for my MGW shifter (2 weeks later), and looks like I'm going with BG when the shifter goes on

RP Synchromax here. Improved cold shifts. Notchiness doesn't last as long when it's cold and is improved. Freezing temps still suck. I don't think any fluid will fix that. When the fluid is warmed up is where I notice the most improvement. It shifts perfectly when warm. I also have a Boomba short shifter and shifter bracket. I just double clutch my first few shifts now when cold just out of habit.

So looks like we are pretty even, only one negative about RP synchromax
