this was a heavy braking track (worst of all the tracks in the west, 3 braking zones all sheds off 75-100mph). at Willow Springs Raceway, outside treads corded within 2 sessions (with -3.5 camber) on a brand new tire. So it is a balance thing, very track oriented.

toe is zero. it is a strut thing with heavy braking imo.
for those thinking -3.5 is too much camber, see here:

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2232817&postcount=187

While chatting with bellwilliam, he swore by -3 to -4.5 front camber. My data also supports this.

I was talking to Sonny (driver for 949 Racing) and Dan M. (from Ford Performance Racing School) at the private Buttonwillow track day about camber as well, and both echoed William's comments about the car liking a lot of negative camber upfront. Dan mentioned he's been wanting to push the race-prepped GT350R at the school they're building to something like -3.5, but is getting a bit of push back since the car will see joyrides from Ford execs and it's overkill for them.

This was Ford Performance GT350 Track Attack. East course of Utah Motorsport Campus (old Miller raceway). This is the only session you get to go out alone by yourself (first was lead/follow, the second was an instructor in the car). This is a free 1 day school provided for GT350 owners.

I had to set start/stop timer at Turn 6. There was a lot of slow traffic (point by passing only at the front straight), it is next to impossible to get 1 clean lap. As it means you have to not of caught anyone in 2 laps (or if you got lucky and able to complete a pass at the short front straight without slowing). By setting start/stop at T6, I can start from pit lane, and be able to get a clean lap as long as I don't catch anyone in 1.2 laps.

The car is a stock GT350 with front camber plate. Unfortunately, all the school GT350 have a dangerous 4 point harness (non-ASM). Which made me very uncomfortable.

Nice.

But why is your lateral accelerometer reading -0.3 or -0.4 g when you're going dead straight ahead (and getting -1.5-ish in lefthanders but barely over 0.5 in rights)?

Don't the Federali tires not have the appropriate rating for the weight of our cars?

To my knowledge, the factory tires were a 96Y and mine are a 96W. So same load rating but a lower top speed (186 -168).

Here is a video from the first session Sunday Morning warming everything up. There are some 36's and 37's in there:

I took it easy on Friday and saw how the car was going to do. Made some minor tweaks. Saturday was mostly the same. I got sucked into lead follow with a friend on Saturday and his AIM showed several 2:32's. I figured I could warm everything up on Sunday morning and by mid day try for a 2:30 flat. I ran the first session and warmed the car and brain up. I parked the car for only 20 minutes and then went back out. As I just wanted to work on a couple turns. About 15 minutes into that session, I got a "rear axle differential temperature increased, reduce speed" warning. Score one for the 2016 mustang now that they have the temp sensors in the diff stock! My fault, I wanted to see how the stock fluid would do. I'm sure if I would have let the car cool down more between sessions I wouldn't have had the issue. I had a 12 hour drive home, so I decided not to push my luck. Hopefully the warning pops up before you cook the fluid. Diff did fine on the drive home and didn't make any noise so I assume it didn't cook the fluid. Will change all fluids in the next day or two. Thought it was worth mentioning though. My attempt to do a 30 flat will have to wait until next time. Such is life. I still had a blast. :)
How do you like the carbo tech pads?

Norm

I think it is because the camera is sitting crooked to the right (CW).
