I traded in my 4 month old V6 last week. I wasn't happy with the car, mostly my OCD was taking over, the car was a Ford Fleet vehicle for 24K miles prior to my purchase.

Went to Las Vegas just to look at a '15 Base GT in CO color, The incentives Ford had along with 0% financing and a motivated dealer to clear old inventory, well I couldn't walk away. I felt like I got a smoking deal and the car is amazing to drive, just hitting 1,000 miles today!

My friends on the 3.7 side of the forum I'm still here but spending my time on the 5.0 side.

Thanks for the conversations.

Nice - welcome to the V8 side! No 4 or 6 sounds like it. Subbie boxer 4 comes close though.

If you are happy and have the means to do so then I think you made the right choice and definitely enjoy it. That 5.0 is buttery smooth.

I had the opportunity to test drive a '16 base gt a few weeks and it was a mighty fine drive. While the dealer was motivated to sell I felt they weren't giving me the best deal for a car sitting in the lot for nearly a year and didn't take it.

Congrats man! I just switched from V6 to GT few weeks ago as well. Pull after 3500rpm is incredible :)

Just curious, what exactly weren't you happy with? I'm assuming maybe you felt it was underpowered, but compared to the V8 that's obvious. Why not just buy the GT from the beginning?

Congrats man! I was about to do the same thing with a used DIB 5.0, it even came with a roush exhaust (sound was amazing) 31,000 with 5,000 miles. but I was going to have 3,000 roll over from my v6 and I just didn't think it was worth losing that much money over the 5,000 that I already put into my car. also the GT was from a Acura dealership, idk if they make it harder because its not a ford dealership.

My reasons were many, as far as the cost, well lets just say I saved a bundle!

And who doesn't like 0% ?

Tried trading in my 2016 v6 that only has 4000 miles on it today and they only offered me $17000 for it. I was like nope.

You can get more than that..... That was their first offer for me, I told them that was an insult and I'll just walk. 1 hour later of back and fourth and they came up to almost Bluebook.

Congrats on your 5.0 though. I lost a good deal on my trade, but it was worth ever bit lost! Love this engine.

Dnt worry V6 brothers....within a few years we will all have upgraded to a GT. Then there will be a new population on these 3.7 forums and we will be the GT guys. Enjoy your 3.7s while you have em. I sure am.
