Are the 2018 shafts the same as the 15-17?

I hope this is a one off problem. I would have thought that after the early 2000's GT's, Cobras/Terminators and Mach1's breaking shafts with just good DR's so easily Ford would bulk them a bit and learn their lesson. Then started to really test drags radials and slick on test cars.

Here comes all the speculation and paranoia now opcorn:

Wait 12.2 on drag radials at 116? I thought everyone was running 12.0s at 119 on stock tires?

I remember a magazine article about a 2000 cobra R spitting a half shaft with drag radials. I also know that the 2003s cobras half shaft were much improved over the 2001 cobras(strength wise) which the 2001 cobras were improved over the 99 cobras (spline count). Alot of those problems were due to wheel hop. I have never driven a 2015+ mustang, do they hop? There were tons of fixes for the older irs, mostly making it more solid for one, it was made pretty loose because of NVH. I wonder if its a half shaft problem or rear end problem, or if it really is just a one off oopsie. Im sure looking at high powered 2015-17s will answer that, maybe someone can shed some light.

Edit: were there changes in half shafts or rear end between 17 and 18?

FYI Jon Lund Jr posted a video explanation of the wheelie with their orange manual car. The driver bogged when experimenting and lifted the HEAVY (about 60 lbs total per my race scales) oem GT PP wheel and tire. See the picture on their FB page.

The black automatic had the black accent package wheels and oem Pirelli all season 255/40x19's front and rear for the 12.00 bone stock run.

I thought a car guy would be sophisticated enough. To know about things like DA, track prep, and driver mod. Comments like that. Make you sound a little jealous of the 18s.:shrug:

Lol welcome to S.FL ! PBIS is not like all of the tracks up north with super low humidity and temps. Yep even in december its still 75~80 down here. Times reflect that.
